Swimming in the sea yet?

Postby Roy » 14 Apr 2013 09:10

Just wondering if anyone has seen anybody swimming in the sea yet? Is the sea warm after all the mixed weather?
Thanks in advance.

Was in the sea this time last year & it was lovely, straight in no hesitation but weather was better then. Turkish people say you shouldn't go in the sea until the watermelons are ready!!

Can't be colder than the North Sea in summer... I'd go in for a swim everyday if I lived there :)

Thanks for everyone's comments. Look forward to hearing from you Noodles; we won't be far behind you & can try the sea for ourselves. I don't mind a nit of cold having swam out of the Gorge at Saklikent a number of times  now that's cold!!

The gorge is where the water first surfaces & it is absolutely freezing. Still to try Akyaka, probably this year, so can compare then.

There have been many people swimming in the sea in Marmaris now the weather has warmed up. I have not been brave enough to venture close to the sea yet and not heard any comments on how warm it is, but can't be too bad if people are going in and staying with smiles on their faces :D
