Such a shame he fell foul of the same "disease" that seems to strike many Icmeler owners of bars, restaurants, accommodations and even shops of selling his goods below the profit line to attract more people in than the place down the road

A lot of owners seem to think that its better to have a full place and not make any profit at all than have a few people and make a little profit

He is not the first and definitely wont be the last but its a crying shame that they will ALL not learn and put their prices up so that they can keep a roof over their heads

Is this a definite that Harry's is closing or is he just renovating the place?

Can anyone find out for sure? Is Tayfun, his wife or daugter on facebook so I can contact him

Thanks

According to a post I saw on fb today, he's definitely closed. Sad, but at the end of the day, JT is right.

Hi

I know I have commented already on this post but can I ask a question which people may think sounds silly?

How do we know Harry's is definitely closed down. Has Tayfun told people this?

Thanks.

There were pictures of all the kitchen equipment being removed from the restaurant, I think they were on facebook.

There has been so many rumours going round that the place has closed and pics showing stuff being removed, i reckon they are just rumours, as i have read somewhere that it is in fact open, i am waiting to hear from a friend if it iss true or not and will post back later

Photo's and comments should never be posted ANYWHERE unless it is 100% certain to be true otherwise it is nothing more than gossip, not just in this instance but for anything to do with anything

Rumours like this could ruin a business, the photos posted by someone living there just shows that a van is removing items from the property, it doesnt necessarily mean they are shutting down, someone could have got the wrong end of the stick, i will report back when i know for certain

Agree with Sue & JT - unless something is 100% certain or news is from the owner then nothing should be said.

I do hope they are still open, although I'm not really a fish & chip person when I go abroad it'd be a shame if it was shutting.

Paul kear who is currently in Icmeler has confirmed that Typhoon has retired due to ill health. He was actually very ill 2004-2005, I'm sure he told me that he had a heart bypass.

Paul said last week he was going to go and visit him to check with him so I presume he has.

You could get fish and chips from ANY restaurant in Icmeler but would not taste like what we in the UK class as "fish and chips"

That is except for the only place that now has a "proper" chippy deep fat fryer and that is Christines Friar Tucks across the road from the Babadan hotel

Friar Tucks is the place I go when I fancy fish and chips or even one of her home made pies or cakes

Paul has posted on another forum confirming that the owner of Harry Rams has retired. He added that Sony will be doing fish and chips, pies etc.
I have to agree with JT re. Friar Tucks. We dined there last year and had lovely fish and chips and the lemon meringue pie was wonderful.
