I know that champagne is not that readily available in Turkey but I would like to have some for my parents anniversary meal. How do you think it would be received if I brought one duty free and asked the restaurant to have this at the table? The restaurant I know they will choose is Bonjour in town and I do know majority of the staff. Do they charge corkage like they would over here?

May as well close this topic down JT. No one has responded so I'll just ask the lads at Bonjour if I can do this.

Sami if the owner of the place that you want to celebrate in is a decent person then he will realise that you are going to spend money there so will not object to you bringing a bottle of Champagne and not charge you corkage
There are I suppose some exceptions to that rule but very few and far between in

Sami, I posted a reply to this, but no idea what happened to it...said something along the same lines as
JT has. Very odd...

Thanks guys. I wasn't offended that no-one had replied more that I didn't want to just do it and the restaurant owner think I am rude even asking. But this makes me now think that I am sure it will be fine.
