Here is my review from last June
After reading other reviews I had to respond
The Melita apartments, which are in a great location a minute from the beach, and handy for all the bars and restaurants the apartments themselves were quite basic kettle twin hotplate and a fridge very little in the way of utensils but we made do, pool was clean and plenty of sun beds but the apartments were not full didn’t use air conditioning as there was a balcony back and front so we just opened both doors to let the breeze blow thru it, would be needed now as the temperature is a lot hotter from 36 degrees when we arrived to 44 degrees when we left found the staff very helpful only downside to our holiday was the airport prices DON’T BUY ANYTHING AT THE AIRPORT IT IS A TOTAL RIPOFF 2 cans coke £7 Efes with a bag of chips £10 but we will be coming back to Icmeler.

Hi
We stayed at the Melita last June and agree with most off Geovil remarks we did use air con. which is situated in the bedroom and found it adequate. Bar staff very good and very helpful did not give to much hassle as we had a few breakfast and a few drinks on the way back at night but not sure wether they will be returning this year as they were having problems towards end of season.

Looking forward to hearing Kentcabbi review as we have booked to go back to Melita in June.

We did write a review in July last year which is more detailed

Over the last few years have always booked with John (ICR) thankyou once again John (ICR) for the fantastic price match deal

Hi
Dont understand why it makes any difference who you book through if the accomodation is right or wrong why does it make a difference it still spoils or makes your holiday

There is no such thing as right or wrong accommodation or any authority to make a decision on such for the general population.. Holidays are about dreams, preferences and tastes and it comes in more colors than the rainbow shows..

The accommodation that makes one's holiday may spoil someone else's however service goes a long way regardless of which holiday accommodation you choose thus its our (ICR) duty to clear up some important points when it comes to an ICR forum member who mentions having to book themselves elsewhere on their own from a property which we have in our books.
We always do our best to make sure our guests never go in such trouble such as having to find them selves a new place on their own or feel stranded so clarifiying that part was important from our (ICR) perspective.

(note: we continue selling melita for now beacuse this property in question obviously matches quiet a few holiday makers' taste and not spoil their holidays.)

hope this clarifies the confusion.

From our own experience we've found that who you book with determines what type of room you get

For example, we've stayed in accom that ICR sell, but we booked thru a"cheap" online company - I hasten to add...before ICR had their price match offer
Admittedly, it WAS cheaper than ICR, but we suffered an attic room
Am sure we'd have had a MUCH BETTER room if we'd booked with ICR AND not had the hassle of being ripped off with air con that didn't work and paying for a safe that didn't exist!!!!

All I can say is that you get what you pay for - am sure some places would give you a broom cupboard if they could get away with it - and with ICR being in resort, that wouldn't happen if you booked with them

I think it does make a difference who you book with - especially if you are unhappy with some aspect of your holiday. Sometimes it's not having a problem which is THE problem - it's how that problem is dealt with which can make or break your holiday and at least with ICR, you have the office right there in the resort and staff on hand to sort things out. Try getting a hold of some rep from one of the bigger firms who's maybe based in Marmaris or wherever if you've got a problem in the wee small hours...

Hi all
I did book through icr after enquiring about other accomodation and having the melita reccomended to us instead by icr we paid the same as we could have for most appartments in icmeler so wasnt a case of buying cheaply
You're right icr are in resort so you would like to think that what ever they reccomend would be good as i put in my review the melita is in a great location the pool size and appartment size are brilliant but the place was in need of a refurb
Things like blood stained and torn bedding electric shocks and ant infestation not forgeting the rat running around the pool area i think most people would find unacceptable regardless of what your idea of ideal is
I love icmeler and have been 5 times in the last 6 years but i can not persuade my wife or son to return after our last visit
Cheers

To Colin/Harrishawk

Far before your arrival in Icmeler you voiced your concerns on our forum about your booking at the Melita and we offered on a couple of occasions to cancel the Melita and move you to a different accommodation but you declined the offer and decided to stay at the Melita

Elaine from the office did visit on your second day just to make sure that you had settled in ok (which all our guests receive) but I stressed that she visit you first that day as I knew you had your reservations about the place and if you found it not to your liking we wanted to get you moved to alternative accommodation before it spoiled the start of your holiday

Everything was fine Elaine was told and she said that you had no issues with the apartments

We did not see you again until you came to the office on the 9th day of your 17 day stay and then you did mention that you were disappointed with the Melita and it was not up to your standard and again with 8 days still left of your holiday we said ok we will move you to alternative accommodation but again you refused this offer and said that you would stick it out at Melita

Once again we are really sorry that your stay at the Melita did not live up to your expectations but in your own admission you should have come to the office a lot sooner so we could have moved you elsewhere so you could enjoy your stay in Icmeler

We did formally apologise after you mailed us on your return to the UK and reimbursed you some money which you kindly donated to the dogs home in Icmeler

We once again apologise for the bad experience you had and did warn the management of the apartments in the most strictest way possible that they should keep on top of things and tidy up so no other future guests would be affected.

On a closing note even though our office in Icmeler was available for you it was never used to its full extent so hopefully future guests of ICR will read this post and understand that the office and staff are always there for you whilst in the resort 24 hours a day

Hi
John please dont think im having a go at icr i am aware you're there 24 hours a day and your service has always been brilliant my point is this thread started with Dave Goldie asking for peoples experiences good or bad with the melita not with icr
The reason i posted was because you went back to 2011 and hand picked all the positive reviews giving a one sided account in my opinion
I did mention the electric shock to Elaine on her visit but said i had got it sorted and you're absolutely correct i did visit your office after 9 days as i was passing but by then we had got most of the problems sorted and had got on with people staying there
Again if you thought i was having a go at you or the icr team i apologise but as you say you had cause to warn the management and i got an email from you on my return saying you had no reason to dought my account of the melita and credited my account with £40 as a good will gesture which as you say was donated to the dogs home
I understand theres good and bad appartments as there is all over the world
It just seems like appartments are being reccomended without being inspected
Cheers

I stayed at the Melita last June, It was basic but what we had expected.cleaner came in every day so no problems with that clean sheets and towels seemed to be daily. we had breakfast a few mornings and drinks late at night .Staff were very good and friendly .I took my grandaughter with me and she went back for a week in September which shows we enjoyed it it depends on what your expectations are .I have been to Turkey 20+ times, and i am going back this year, again to the Melita .ICR have always been there for any problems.

We had a bad start to our Holiday as one of the porters broke our bottle of Bacardi on the way in but so what .
