We flew with Thomson 2 weeks ago and I had my hair straighteners and dryer in my hand luggage. No problems or questions asked.
Have a good holiday

When I went in June I put all my electrical stuff and chargers in my hand luggage to try and save on weight in my suitcase. All was well until I went through security!! My husband saw the bag go through the scanner and he said it just showed up a mass of wires.
The bag was pulled and I had to completely empty it. Every item - hair dryer, straighteners, shavers, iron, kettle - absolutely everything and every charger was checked. The actual bag was scanned again - it was all very time consuming and VERY embarrassing. If you can - put it in your suitcase!

Aw poor you Patsiej!
Must say though I'll risk the embarrassment of that if it means I can fit extra shoes in my suitcase
