Rush Bar and Restaurant

Postby Mrs M » 24 Sep 2012 13:53

Just want to say how fab the new Rush Bar is, we visited on a number of occasions during our 2 week stay in Icmeler. The food is very good as is the service and the staff they will go out of there way to make you happy. Entertainment every night, we missed the Magician show one night so Rashid arranged for him to come so we could all see it, the guy brings a monkey with him (so cute).
So if you are staying in Icmeler try and get to the Rush Bar you will not be dissappointed! :D

I had 5 meals in here all excellent,my friend and his wife who went with us ate 13 of his 17 nights in the Rush Bar.
He said "Why eat anywhere else when you have already got perfection".
Highly Recommended.

We went to Icmeler with my brother and his family and they did the same they ate here most nights. Its great because as well as the entertainment for the kids there's the swings and a pool table. Although my kids spent most the time dancing on the bar with the staff to "I'm sexy and I know it" tops off the lot (there 8 and 4)

Hmm, had thought about visiting Rush - but after hearing they have a monkey as "entertainment" then I'm sorry, this is one place I certainly WON'T be frequenting...

And the same applies to any establishment I see or know about using animals for entertainment - I simply won't go there.

I was looking forward to visiting this bar but it is definitely a no go now if they accept it is OK to have entertainers using monkeys on their premises.
I wonder if Icmeler Animal know about this?
Well I guess they will now.

Same here. I can in no way contribute to the popularity of having any animal like that in captivity to perform. It's basically slavery to animals, it should be living free in Africa or wherever it is from. I also hate circus's and zoo's.

It may not perform but used to attract people into the bar as lots of bars this year have been doing this in Marmaris. :x

What about the bars that have the guy with the snake act,the fellow who does the magic act and pulls a rabbit from his Top Hat.or the bars that have puppies to entertain their guests or the bars with kittens.
If you stick to your plan people i would suggest buying plenty of bottles at Duty Free because the bars avaliable to you will be limited,as a lot of these acts entertain in quiet a lot of the bars in Icmeler.

Gene

ps the monkey is part of a travelling act going round the bars of Icmeler and not tied to a post outside of the Rush Bar to attract customers.

For all of you who object to animals being used in entertainment, could you please explain to me then why the people of Great Britain chose an entertaining dog called Pudsey as the winner of Britains Got Talent and does this mean you have all stopped watching Television

I feel the same about monkeys being used in acts, however I must admit that this monkey was not on any kind of leash. It happily sat on its owners and others shoulders. He said it was a pet. It was not used in the act, but was put in a large van, with the windows open and went in and out of the van of its own accord all the time the magician was performing. I do not believe in monkeys being used in acts, or as pets, however would not aviod Rush Bar(which is excellent by the way), as they don't promote the monkey and it was given total freedom by it's owner.

I can see your point redhino, but, in fairness, dogs are bred for pets as well as working animals, and the human/dog relationship goes back a long way of course. Different with monkeys really, and I dont think an animal of that kind should be kept in captivity, unless it is for its own good and health, or as part of a captive breeding programme for an endangered species.

Its a very complicated situation, so its difficult for all concerned, but, personally, I wouldnt go there <if the monkey was there at the time> any other time I doubt I would have a problem if its a nice place. That way, you show your disapproval, but dont cut off your nose to spite your face.

Might sound like a silly question but did anyone notice if it still had it's teeth or perhaps saw if it was eating anything?

Horses are bred for sport and work ie Racing, showjumping I wonder how many have had to be put down after taking a tumble over a big fence, but off course the man and horse also have a special relationship so I suppose thats ok.

Hi Roy,

First thing I looked at were teeth and nails and I am pleased to say that they were all in tact, which I took to be a good sign

There is a big difference to a rare monkey who is probably a Slow lorus and and a domestic dog.
These monkeys are by nature very shy and timid.
We have guide dogs, mountain rescue dogs, sniffer dogs at ports and airports who are all trained to be doing something useful and are certainly well looked after.
I wonder what happens to these animals in winter?
Any bars that have any animals either outside or performing will not get our custom.
There are plenty of nice quiet bars and cafes in Icmeler who dont.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, Gene - and yes, as you ask, I would avoid any bars or restaurants which in my view do use animals - any kind of animals - in the manner you have suggested - and indeed, have done so in the past, not only in Icmeler but elsewhere too. I've never even watched, far less voted, in any shows like Britain's Got Talent, but have reservations about dogs being made to act like that too.
Just my personal opinion, but unless those of us who feel this way make a stand, nothing will ever improve as far as the exploitation of animals is concerned.
