Deal or no deal

Postby scunny jim » 09 Sep 2012 14:25

For the past 10 years we have done DIY but it is getting increasingly harder each year to do this. However we will continue to do so mainly because we would rather the Turkish people benefit from our money rather than the big tour operators who are now more interested in AI which to our way of thinking is hurting the Turkish economy. Our opinion does not include ICR who do a brilliant job, but unfortunately do not cover the apartments we frequent.Hope this all makes sense, but AI is not for us.Any chance JT of getting an ICR airline?

These issues have been raised on another thread as "flghts:- shooting in the foot! as I think most people are finding this for next years hols. I totally agree about trying to support the local Turkish economy but in these days of tightening of the proverbial belt it is becoming more and more difficult. We also like to stay at a non-ICR apartment but have in the past booked with ICR due to our usual aparts not having any space. Keep up the good work ICR. An ICR airline is an excellent idea though :D

We've usually done DIY too and planned to do so again this time, but we just couldn't find flights from Scotland anywhere near cheap enough. In the end, we've had to opt for a package, which came in at less than the flights on their own? Where's the logic in that?
I would much rather keep my business for smaller firms like ICR - who I have booked with several times before - but this time, it just wasn't working out financially, and that's no fault of JT and his team, but the flight companies. We are going s/c however, as AI isn't our thing either, so we will still be supporting the local bars and restaurants with our custom as usual.
Hopefully next year we will manage to find flights at a more reasonable price.
