It's been a long time since we did it but we took a Dolmus to the bus terminus at Marmaris then a bus to Ortaca, from Ortaca you can get a bus or Dolmus to Dalyan, from what I remember it took around 2 hours for the whole journey, no idea what the prices are these days but it was pretty cheap and I can't really see it being less so now

We made the mistake of leaving it too late to get the bus home so found a Pansiyon for the night, not exactly in our planned itinerary but had a great night out, we caused quite a stir at our apartments though, we arrived back at noon the following day and they were on the verge of starting a search party, Oops

I'm sure others will be along with more up to date advice if I'm wrong.............

Yes, there has been other mentions about such a trip. Dolmus from Icmeler then one from outside the fountains in Marmaris to Otogar at the very top of Marmaris. From there you will get a bus to Ortaca and change for the last part of the journey to Dalyan. The last bus back leaves there about 6.30pm or thereabouts, if I remember rightly. It takes just over 2 hours and we found the staff on all three buses very helpfull. Cost I`m not sure but was £7 a few years ago.

Thanks both - that's really helpful, shame the last dolmus back isnt a bit later, but maybe we may spend the night there. :)

Try Emailing the ICR office, maybe they could arrange a couple of nights accomodation in Dalaman, I'm getting the impression there's not much they can't do :P

Thanks - but my cousin is renting a villa in Dalyan and also friends have just bought there, so we wont have any shortage of places to stay.

I'm sure, as you say there's not much ICR couldnt help with. :)

It may pay you to think about stopping overnight because when we went there and back in a day we didn't have much timein the resort. Having said all that, as someone who has stayed in Dalyanon on several occasions for two weeks or more, it is perhaps unsporting of me to tell you that you can cover the main shopping area in one hour. If you are going to visit Tutle beach then you must remember that it is a good 15 mins Dolmus drive from the resort centre. If you do go you will find it an interesting trip and place to visit.
