Bit worried,Ekinci palace?

Postby crazybabe666 » 12 Aug 2012 18:31

Hi everyone,7 of us are staying here 15th of sept for 2 weeks, booked with tc,3 one bedroom appts.
I'm just a bit concerned over a few reviews posted on another forum, its making the place sound bad, with talk of overbooked rooms, unfriendly staff,or over friendly staff with teenage girls, cleanliness, and being given the cold shoulder for not spending money there!!
I'm certainaly not expecting the ritz, but would like to think its an acceptable standard, and really dont wont us too feel uncomfortable with the staff... :(
We alaways have drinks round the pool during the day,and quite a few snacks lunchtimes, and will probably eat there on a few evenings,if the food is good...
Any one who can put my mind at ease,or who has stayed here recently would be a great help, because im really not looking forward to it after reading these reviews, thanks Crazybabe... :)

I stayed there in June , here is a link to my review.
Some people have complained and one waiter was a bit pushy but a firm polite no did the trick.
I had a great time there and have booked to go back next year already with ICR. I never saw anyone getting the cold shoulder treatment for not eating there and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Look forward to your holiday, you will have a great time.
There was a lot of repeat customers when i was there and the staff are mainly the same ones from previous years.

Hi we only ate there one evening and that was the Turkish night and the food and entertainment was very good. Ekinci is one of the few places that does have reg entertainment.
I normally had breakfast and lunch there and they was good but i like to go out in the evening and that was the reason for not eating there. The lads that work there are great fun and friendly and always willing to share a joke. You will have a great time, stop worrying and start packing your case! Xxxx

We've stayed there 3 years running but it was so busy this year we couldn't get booked.

Never had any problems, there's no hassle and have never ever been ignored for not spending money in the complex. Never been overcharged and the staff are all friendly from management to cleaners.

No problem too small for them to sort. Would highly recommend Ekinci to anyone and so disappointed that can't stay this year but will be going down to say hi to all the guys.

Will hopefully be able to book next year.

Paul I think that comment is harsh, if some one did try to rip your son off , name the individuals but dont label all of the staff rip off merchants because that is not fair.

It is classed as the old village I would say say as it is about 7 mins walk from town. I've not heard bad reviews for this place and to be honest its just a base. There are plenty of other places to use the pool, bar, restaurants etc. I've not heard that they hassle you to stay and eat there either which is good. But from what I have seen from the road walking past, the balconies look a good size which probably reflects on room size too. They are all pool facing I think too. You and Reece will have a wonderful time.
I have taken 2 friends who were both new to the place on seperate occasions this year and both have said what a wonderful place it is and they are both hooked! I am sure it will be the same for your boyfriend. :) Enjoy!

Hey crazy, do not worry. I have just said to another member that at the end of the day, it is a base. I've never stayed there but have walked past many times. All balconies look a good size which must reflect on apartment size. I've not heard of any hassle from the staff here and most have a brilliant time. As you say, I am sure if you are lazing around the pool there will be a few soft drinks and a few beers consumed through the day. I've heard the food is pretty good anyway so the odd lunch might be in order too.
There are so many other places in the old village where you can use the pools, restaurants, bars etc and to be fair, do pay your bill as you go. I am sure with the amount of rooms and customers they have, most places could get a little confused. And as others have said, a firm but polite no is sifficient for them to leave you alone. Have fun and enjoy! :)

hi chloe
we stayed at the ekinci 2 years ago
it has water slide good bar restaurant but the pool area wasnt cleaned very often
it might have changed since then
the apartments are good size but don't accept the top floor as they dont have a view from balcony just brick head height wall around as you are top floor roof level
pool get sun all day and a nice walk to town past romance bar which is great for food and entertainment

we are nit going this year so gutted!!!

back next june though

have a good holiday

We've stayed at Ekiinci 3 times but not this year. Not all the rooms are pool facing. There is a block at the back which doesnt really have an outlook but it may be quieter at night here as you will not get noise from people sitting outside the bar at pool. We had a problem with hot water - we had no shower for 2 days on one of our stays - a problem with the pump although we could use another roomfor shower - also on all our visits the water pressure from shower is not good & not hot - but this can be a common problem in Turkey. Also the room cleanliness was not up to much & we had to ask for clean towels on each of our visits. Apart from that the room sizes were fine - beds uncomfortable - and good size balconies, good size pool & nice outlook in old village. If you get top floor room ask to be moved you cant see over balcony & gets very hot. About 15 min walk to beach.
