NOT SPENDING MONEY IN APARTMENTS

Postby geordiedave1964 » 08 Aug 2012 22:19

Is there any apartments that dont give you the cold shoulder if you spend your money elsewhere. i understand they dont get a lot but over the 2 weeks i spent a decent amount there but not what they expect. So is there anywhere where they dont give the cold shoulder.........

I stayed in Club Tokmak last year and didn't eat there at all except for the Turkish night and they were fine. Hopefully whatever place I choose for September will be the same.

We stayed at the Dilhan last year, and for the first week we literally just had an evening drink or 4.
But never had the cold shoulder.
I think if you do experience the cold shoulder it's more down to individual owners who assume that all British holiday makers come on holiday to just sit round the pool all day.
Have to say there were several of those we saw last year, but couldn't do that personally.
Individual tastes I guess!
But everyone wants something different from a holiday, so it has to be expected that some will stay in, some will go out!

We always stay at the Eden Garden ( not ICR ) and never eat there at evening time yet they never bother you or shun you. In fact most people eat out at night but during the day the restaurant is always busy. Excellent food and price comparable, but people just like to go out at night.

We spent the last three years at Ekinci Palace and never had any bother about not eating in the restaurant. We only used it once each holiday :o . Going to Senem Apartments this year so don't know what they will be like. We prefer to eat at a different place every day and only have a drink at the holiday apartment. 8)

We went to Grand Aquarium in the old village.

Although we used the restaurant a few times we were never shunned when we went elsewhere (maybe due to the constant stream of Efes throughout the day though  )

We've stayed at Ekinci several times, and going back in oct. We do eat there a couple of times because the food is good, but we don't get any hassle from the staff to go every night. They joke about us always being in another restaurant down the road every time they pass, but as one of them put it, it's our money and we can spend it wherever we like. They're just happy we spend some of it in their bar.

We stayed at small family run apartments a few years ago, very nice place, and we'd have been happy to return there time and again, but the owner nagged non stop about us always going out, and even told one of the restaurant car drivers who came to pick us up that he wasn't to come again as they were taking trade away from the apartments. We had words about that, and we told him he had lost what could have been 2 very regular customers. They don't seem to realise the more they go on, the less likelihood people will stay.

We have stayed at Rhodes apartments several times and have never been made to feel uncomfortable about going out elsewhere to eat and drink, in fact, Tango will always wish us a good evening. Mind you, the food there has been so good we have eaten there loads, especially during the day.

We stayed in the Turgay apartments as was expecting to get the cold shoulder. We only have two beers there and cups of tea. We eat all our meals out elsewhere, and they where fine and never gave us the cold shoulder.

We stayed 3 times at the Greenworld Apartments but on our 2nd visit they made it difficult for us being collected by restaurants like Bonour and Loveboat and on our last visit they were positively obstructive, therefore we have not been back since. We now go to Senem Apartments and have had no problem with staff ignoring us or being annoyed with us going out. They call us a taxi when we are going out and have even driven us to restaurants. We ate there a few times this year as the new chef provides excellent food and we just felt like staying at the apartments. When people go to Icmeler they want to eat in the many terrific restaurants, so if staff in apartments don't treat you with respect you vote with your feet!

You've got plenty to pick from, perhaps it's just an odd bad experience we all get to hear about - to add a couple more to your list - Mola in the old village very close to Tommys - the food there is absolutely superb but you won't get an ounce of hassle to stay, even at lunchtime, Avlu 1 too, no bother at all :)

Old Adler twice, Ekinci twice, Celik and Tokmak and we have never had a problem with eating out at other establishments. Probably helps that we often drink the bars dry when we return at night and that we treat the owners and staff with the same respect that we expect from them.
