I bumped into Jimmy(Charlie) last week and he told me his restaurant is now closed and is a bag shop.
We only used his place once every fortnight but found him a nice bloke.
What really struck me though was if an experienced restaurant owner like him has gone under more will surely follow.
Fingers crossed it wont be too many.
P.S. This is the one next to Linekers.

We were surprised when we saw this in June he is 1 of the most friendly and pleasant people around even when you were just walking past he always had a smile and a wave - so sad

Charlie did't "go under" just couldn't compete.... especially with the Mandalin opposite and their popular set meals so decided to do something else.
Go and pay him a visit people! He's one of the nicest people I know.
He's got some lovely bags and will do you a good deal! I bought a great Mulberry bag from him in May and will be going back to see what else he's got in a few weeks time

yes we used to love visiting this restaurant but was put off visiting due to the ongoing volume wars between the bar beside Charlies and opposite. It was not possible to enjoy your meal.

That's a real shame. We visited that restaurant last year and were looking forward to going there again.
A very friendly guy to. Will have to pop in to his new shop while we're there.

We loved Charleys and used to go early before the dreadful racket started next door.
My husband said the steak there was the best he had tasted.
He is a real gentleman and hope he succeeds in his new venture.

sorry to hear about Charlies it was always on our list of excellent restaurants.we have had a couple of meals per holiday there for the last ten years and always found the food spot on and the welcome genuine.but with the greatest respect to peli if there is a woman alive a bag shop will make a profit.

I think you will find that the there were two Charlie's in
Icmeler and I'm sure the one along beside the Red Lion, opposite the apothocary and tatooist is still open

. I might be wrong and I apologise if I am but the other one along beside the Alin is the one who has closed/changed

. Maybe
JT can enlighten us and maybe take a piccie or two, please

The OP does state in the orignal post that this is about the Charlies next to Linekers

We had the worst meal ever in
Icmeler at Charlies near the Red Lion last October.
Shame really as I was so looking forward to going there.I left my review on Trip Advisor.
