Hi everyone, we fly out on the 10th August, our neighbours are coming with us this year for their first trip to paradise, they have just found out that their son goes to Altinkum on the 15th August, and are thinking about going to visit him for the day, or their son coming to Icmeler, can anyone give us any advice on how to get there and how long it would take

Personally I would say it is to far to go there and back in a day. You would need a coach from
Marmaris towards Bodrum with a change at Milas. About 2 hrs is my guess then another 1 hr+ from there to Altinkum. Altinkum is actually off the beaten track as things go as it is off the main road from Bodrum to Izmir. I`m someone with more experience than me may be able to advise you further. I wish you luck and hope this helps.

Hi, to go to Altinkum, you get a bus from
Marmaris bus station to Aydin,
transfer to a bus for Soke, then a bus to Altinkum. The whole single journey takes about 5 hours. It is best to do an overnight stay as long journey and tiring. I did this journey a few years ago but stayed overnight before returning to
Icmeler the following day. Hope this info helps.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll leave that one to the neighbours

5 agonising hours last time I had to do it, as flights were no good for me one year!
NEVER AGAIN !!
Had severe problems with child pickpockets in Soke bus station, along with very unhelpful bus operators at each change of bus along the way!

We stayed in Gumbet two years ago, and have friends living in Altinkum. They came to visit us in Gumbet, and it was a long trip both ways to there.
