Hi Lizcoy,
Nearest bar with entertainment is Dejavu which is about a 5 min walk from you. Walk down to the main road and then turn left and it is up the road on the right hand side...you cant miss it.
Once you pass dejavu then there are some more bars and restaurants.
To walk to the main square takes about 15 mins but there are plenty of places to stop to replenish the fluids on the way.
Stayed at the Sarigul a couple of years ago and can say that it is a very nice small apartment block and we had a great 2 weeks there. Although there are a couple of hills to climb up from the main road to the apartment so be prepared for that...always seemed easier after a few efes...not sure why :D
Remember if you want to go to a restaurant in the main part then book a table and ask them if they have transport to collect you. Most bars will also give you a lift back often they will offer if they know you are staying in the old village.
Hope this helps

Thanks neecy and jeanette for your replies.have stayed in the old village for the past couple of years but not over that side.Really looking forward to it, have heard that it is only a small block of apartments and friendly owners we prefer smaller places to stay were you can get to know everyone and have a laugh. Thanks again and happy hols liz x

I've stayed there twice, the first time was 13 years ago and the last was August 2011.
The apartments are a lovely size, we had the front apartment on the 1st floor last year which meant we had a massive balcony overlooking the pool area and down the hill, it was fabulous.
Reg and his wife do an amazing job, the place is spotless inside and out (apartments cleaned daily, bedding and towels a couple of times a week, if you want them done more regularly just leave the dirty ones outside your door and Reg's wife will change them) and they are so friendly and easy going. Often we'd help ourselves at the bar if Reg had popped inside to get something, we'd just write down what we'd taken and he'd add it to our tab (which was always spot on, never over).
They definitely made us feel like part of the family, so mush so that in 12 days we only left there a total of 3 times during the day, lol!
Have a wonderful time (I'm sure you will) and please say hello to Reg from Jane, Mehmet and Alexander. :)

Hi Liz, sorry for the late response but for some reason I haven't been around much lately.
Just to update you, Myself and my son (Alexander) have been to Mehmet twice since last year and I am going back in August alone, it'll be far too hot for my Alexander so he's going away with my parents but he will be coming with me in October. I will go again February then the two of us will go in April. After that we're (hopefully) going to finally live as a family again once Alexander finishes school next summer. That all depends on how well he does in his exams (good = we must stay, bad = we're off!).
You've not got long now, I bet you're getting so excited! :-D xx

What an incentive janey haha - bad results and you have to stay?! Wish there'd been something like that to give mine an incentive, so hope he does REALLY WELL
