6 days to go and Rhonda has fractured her tibia. Och well! we'll be easy to spot in Icmeler, me and the lady on crutches.
A bit of a drastic way to do it but hopefully we'll now get decent seats on the plane

Make sure you have a letter from the Doctor that she is OK to fly else you may get denied boarding.

Also make a declaration to the insurance company so if you need any treatment or go forbid have another accident that they don;t void your insurance for none declaration.

Have a great holiday, no better place in the world to recover.

Hi Steve
Don't know if you've had this advice already but a swollen foot is common after a fracture to any of the bones in the leg and to avoid the oedema she needs to keep her leg higher than her heart. I found a good way to do this was to turn the sunbed around and then she can put her leg up on the raised bit. :)

My sincere sympathy Steve. The wife broke her ankle in manky Malta many moons ago and she was in stooky from her toes to her knee. We were there with First Choice and the rep. could not get us moved to a ground floor apartment, my back's still sore at the thought! The rep. was also asked to inform Monarch that she would need extra leg room on the return flight and they stuck her in an aisle seat. We also requested that a wheel chair be provided as she had to return the crutches to the hospital at departures and this never appeared either.

Take a few smokies out to Icmeler to smooth the way for you. At least you know the Turkish folk will fall over each other to help you. Have a good one.

I always ring the airport to double check that wheelchair assistance has been arranged but you can only do this in the 24 hours before your flight. Before this they don't have their lists.

Thanks everyone for your messages of support. The good news is Rhonda's orth surgeon is happy for her to wear a brace rather than a cast, GP has given her a fitness to fly and TC have confirmed they are willing to fly her. The brace can be loosened in the plane and she can remove it for sunbathing. She's no stranger to crutches so everyone should still see us out and about as usual. No idle promises of a walk up to the flag this years though :)

2 sleeps to go :D
