Depression

I cant believe how depressed I am. I am sitting at work and I am absolutely fed up. I wonder if its worth going on holiday and having such a fantastic time because the feeling when you come home is the worst ever. I just keep gazing at the lovely picture we have just been supplied of Icmeler at night on the photo gallery and it is absolutely depressing. Why oh why do we punish ourselves? Is anyone else going through the same thing? Come on and cheer me up!

But I would be no good at cheering you up.Friends head to Icmeler on Monday (only the wives) and I should have been one off them.But off work sick don't work don't get paid so I am well cheesed off at the minute and let me tell you the so called friends might not be friends for much longer if they don't stop rubbing salt into the old wounds.

I came back from Icmeler on monday and I am feeling exactly the same as you, i've been to a few other places abraod before but i have never come home and felt like this, it's wierd! i want to move there, i love icmeler soooooooooooo much!

I'm feeling exactly the same Doz, in fact every time I come home from Icmeler it's worse....
If I could i'd be on the next plane back out and not come back until the end of the season.
I just keep telling myself I have to work to be able to afford the next holiday to Icmeler....34 weeks and counting (seems like forever)!

i think everone that goes to Icmeler has the same feelings thats why we go year after year and the only thing keeping me sane is that i have booked for next year and carnt wait for it to come round,
not got days counted yet as its too long but iam hoping the people going in the next few weeks are going to come back with some great reports to keep me going through these dark days and i will come out the other side of christmas with my days to count then it wont seem so long away

Hi I am feeling the same as you lot. Last year was my first time abroad and first time to Icmeler. We went back this year and had a fantastic time I have the Icmeler bug and cannot wait to go again next year. Our friends keep telling us to try somewhere else but we love Icmeler too much, I would live out there also, will keep putting the lottery on. I keep telling my husband to transfer to the Toyota in turkey but he is having none of it.

Keep smiling everyone and keep going to work to get the pennies the weeks will fly by and before you know it we will all be going back to Icmeler, its all down hill after christmas.

Clare how lucky you were to choose Turkey and Icmeler as your first holiday abroad.

We have travelled to a lot of holiday destinations over the years and have had some wonderfull holidays and everyone at the time was special.
But looking back over the years nothing compares to the resort of Icmeler with its scenery,nightlife and hospitable people,who over the years have become friends.

Try the rest Clare but you always return to the best.

To try to cheer you all up we have been out and we are in the process of completing a new september video for you all, we will put it on the site as soon as possible.

Icmeler is a special place, and its horrible to go back to the daily routine in our lives. when we have had so much fun, we miss so many friends and faces, and all have special memories to share with others. Icmeler sets the scenery for you the rest of its magic is made by those of you who hold on to those special memories and return each year like you do. The people here also feel sad when you go home and count the months to see you return again , and share in the happy times with you.
Icmeler is like a candle in alot of peoples lives it just needs relighting to bring back our hopes and dreams, be assured that as long as you keep icmeler in your hearts and the people. that icmeler will be waiting for your return, just like you are waiting to return your own little piece of paradise. Try to smile and know that Icmeler is smilng back at you.

i hate the feeling you get when its time to come home and i have been home three weeks now and i still feel depressed as ever! the only thing that cheers me up is the thought of going back so much so im booking my third trip to icmeler this year for october, its a very expensive way to cheer yourself up!

Hello everyone

As to going home in the winter folks i havent quite decided icmeler has been a part of me for 14 years now and just like you every year it casts it spell on me and i return, believe me there have been times when i said i wouldnt, but you get back home and miss the little things. Yes i am here all summer usually from about march/april as we have to get alot of things ready for the hotels and everyone returning here. Its quite exciting you sit waiting to spot the first of the visitors, you see the restaurants and hotels all preparing themselves to welcome you, and of course you see the familiar faces appearing of the staff and spend time catching up on what they have been up to in the winter. You see icmeler creeping back to life from the quietness of winter. I am lucky, but i also enjoy my job so it makes it special, so yes ! even icmeler has cast its spell on me, so i understand how you are all feeling.But remeber we all have dreams and sometimes those dreams are never where you expect to find them but through determination and hard work we can all experience a little bit of our dreams even if it is for 2 weeks 6 months a year whatever and one day sometimes those dreams become reality.So never give up on whatever dream your searching for even if it is returning for 2 weeks or longer , smile and think i will be there soon.

Hi Sharon it was lovely to meet you. Well what can i say after such another wonderful time in Icmeler, i have left a peice of my heart there after getting home the early hours today then having to go to work .... i feel so deflated and sad after being on such a high for 2 weeks counting all those sleeps till we were going, but i keep telling myself i will be going back again next year, i miss everyone already !!!

There is no need for me to dream of going back, i have left my candle still burning

hello doz, i know how you feel we love icmeler sooooooooo much, me & my husband have been going for 3 years now, we went in july & were so depressed we found some cheap flights & went back 4th sept just for a week, my daughters weren't very happy cause they love it as much as we do!
we took are friends with us,it was ther first time in icmeler & they have the icmeler bug now, she came to mine for a coffee on thurs and we found are selfs looking for more cheap flights for oct,but in reality have to wait until next year.
we are planning to move out there if we can when my youngest daughter finishes school in 4 years counting!
when we comeback to we want to go again, it feels like home,the people are so friendly & we have lots of turkish friends now.
we always stay at ECE apartments (near old village) it is lovely,they are run by a turkish family & i would highly recomend it.
we usually eat at charlies place, the staff are brilliant & food is fantastic,we have a laugh,a dance its brilliant,we have stayed friendly with charlie & he would do anything he could to help you,he is a good friend.
well counting the weeks away now till we return next july
