Icmeler Online Holiday Forum & Reviews - Turkey

Hi all,

Well we can't wait till july to get back out to icmelar (Grand aquarium this time) and having only been once , I was looking for some advice on trying to find places outside icmelar to eat. We are looking for genuine Turkish eateries hopefully in a small friendly village. Anyone on here know of places to recommend and also the easiest way to get there ?

If I was you I would take a taxi from Icmeler (takes approx 20 minutes) to a place called Asparan. It is a lovely place to visit. It is very much like a ranch to look at. We try and visit every year. They serve a fantastic breakfast, typically turkish of course. We have been visiting Icmeler for 20 years, and if we have friends visiting at the same time we tend to take them up there. They have all loved it so far.

Got to agree with Helen, Asparan is really beautiful and the food is lovely too. Its out in the countryside and so peaceful, can't recommend it enough

Is this the place that has little streams running through it and ducks and chickens wandering around? If it is, its gorgeous and so peaceful as you say and also very busy with local people which shows its good. For lunch or evening, there is a restaurant and the name escapes me but it is on the left hand side as you go from Icmeler to Marmaris when you get to the top of the road. Its a circular building with blue paintwork if I remember correctly. Someone must know the name, but they serve a typically Turkish meze and it is lush.

Asparan and Cinar are lovely especially for a big breakfast/lunch

my favourite part of turkish food is their breakfasts so good

Ah, thanks JT. I couldn't remember what it was called. I went there a couple of years ago and it was lovely. Do you know the name of the restaurant I am on about.

Hahahaha Cinar is a restaurant and is also the same place where you had breakfast with the streams and ducks

So your breakfast restaurant is called Cinar

We have been to Cinar several times with Turkish friends or went I've had a hire car. I've driven past Asparan but never called in. Do Asparan have a collection service/mini bus? If not how is the cheapest way to get there without driving yourself?

Sami is referring to 2 different restaurants;

For clarification, the 'restaurant' Sami is asking about is this one;

Have been to Cinar for turkish breakfast and it was really delicious. Very special place and definately worth trying! Highly recommend!Would also like to know what is the easiest way to get there, since I don't want to drive/rent a car myself ? Maybe ICR could arrange a breakfast trip there or something?

Great idea, I too love that place but don't fancy driving.

No I don't think they do a pick-up service in Asparan, but a taxi from Icmeler is cheap enough. We usually stay for about three hours and then call a taxi to pick us up. You won't be disappointed, and their turkish breakfast is beautiful. You will get boiled eggs, bread, honey, nutella, apricots, turkish tea (chay), various cheeses, olives, jams, fresh orange juice, ice cold water, nuts, tomatoes, cucumber, and the list just goes on and on. It really is a treat.
Hope you get to go up there.

Oh I just love a traditional Turkish breakfast. Mmmmm lovely.

Only had a traditional Turkish breakfast once,this was when we did the day trip to hidden lake and Akyaka with ICR,it was so lovely and they had ducks and stream,it was heading just out of Marmaris,what was the name of this place JT ?,it was about 3 years ago.Only thing that disappointed us is that we dont drink tea,and Donna said no problem you can have coffee...then we got the bill...12 TL
