Hi Brodies,

Yes the facilities, Staff, Maid Service, Entertainment, Food etc are great.
It is however back in the Old Village which means a 20 min walk to centre but is just a 5 min walk to Tommys Restaurant & Supermarket.

If you are going to the Grand Aquarium, Im sure you will enjoy it. I know we will.

Hi , we are back there in July for the 5th or 6th time on the trot I can't remember which, the rooms are basic but clean, we love it there once you walk through the foyer and see the pool, palm trees and restaurant you'll understand, and especially at night when it's all lit up.
One thing though do not change any money at the GA, either do it down in the town or there is a 24 hr supermarket at the end of the drive next to a restaurant called Tommy's ,the owner and his wife are lovely people and you will get a much better rate from them. We arrived at around 4 in the morning last year ,after we unpacked I went down there to get milk tea and cereal etc and changed some money while I was there.
Anyway I know you'll have a great time the at the GA and in Icmeler, cheers. :D

We are staying here 25th july for 2 weeks and looking forward to it. We have been to Marmaris for the last 4 years and always visit Icmeler market every year and love how beautiful Icmeler is. So we decided to have a change and give Icmeler a go. Cant wait 68 days to go :D

Hi broadies

Have stayed at the GA twice since been visiting Icmeler and the complex is lovely, I can honestly say that when I first went there it was the first time that a place actually looked like the bochure.

Be aware that you have to get a wrist band which you charge money onto and when you buy a drink they zap your band and the money is deducted. Not sure what the deposit for the wrist band is now but sure someone can update you on that. Good for not having to have any money with you when around the pool.

If you dont want to walk into town the dolmus stops right at the top of the road or remember if you are eating in town then ask the restaurant to pick you up which they will do.

Have a great time.

Sorry to dig up an old(ish) thread but I have a question about the Grand Aquarium (I've tried emailing the Hotel several times but still no reply).

I have booked a room for 3 people (my wife, daughter and myself) and was wondering, do they have a separate bedroom? Thinking more for my daughter as she's turning into a young lady now and will want some privacy when changing and sleeping etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

By the way, I didn't book a 'family' room, just a room for 3...

Should be a 1 bedroom as dont think they have studio apartments only 1 & 2 bed apartments. Have you looked at your booking as it should say 1 bedroom apartment. Never heard anyone saying they were in a studio there.

Thanks for that Jeanette,

I've finally got an email from them but not actually answering the question lol.
Although I did ask for a pool view room not on the ground floor as well as the bedroom question.

Their reply was:

Hi;

I confirm your special requests and we will do our best if we have avaible room on your arrival date.
See you 25th July.
Best wishes;

Hmmmm sounds like the response from a politician. :lol:
All rooms face onto the pool so that is not an issue but some have a better view of the pool than others.
First time we stayed there we had a ground floor apartment and must say there were no issues. 2nd time we booked a 2 bed apartment as there were 5 of us going but when we arrived a family had booked 2 1 bed apartments but wanted a 2 bed so we kindly swapped as they had 2 young children. We were on the 1st floor with these and again no issues but better view of the pool than the ground floor one.
Just to warn you that we had to have a rota to get up to get sunbeds as there are not enough for all the guests.

Had a great time there on both occassions and the apartments are lovely and look exactly like the brochure. You will have fun.

Just asked them again about bedrooms and their reply was:

Hi;
Our apartments with 2 seperate rooms, one of them bedroom and the other one is living room with kitchen.
Best Wishes;

I assume the 3rd bed is a sofa-bed in the living room?
I'm sure we'll have fun. Last year we stayed at a 2 star hotel called the Bizimtepe Hotel in Akyarlar and that was awful but we still enjoyed our hols. Whenever we told locals where we were staying, their looks said everything - it certainly had a 'reputation' lol

The beds in the living room are armchairs that pull out into single beds. The bedroom has the double bed...all I can say is that the beds in the living area remind me of test tubes but they were comfy enough and I slept well when I slept on one...my daughter who was 15 at the time had no problem sleeping on one either....although for me the efes might have helped with my nights sleep. :D

Cheers, my daughter is 15 too so I'm sure no problems there - I will just have to wear her out and maybe a few alcoholic drinks will help lol

Either way, very much looking forward to it and thanks for your replies Jeanette :)
