Its like everything else at the time you take action you have to be happy to accept what is the going value then forget about it regardless of any movement in the rate.
Its the same as when do you book your holiday some people will pay less and others more but that's the way it goes.
Enjoy your holiday.

i was in ankara last week and they were giving 2.87 as an exchange rate but think the rate has dropped a little
so i estimate about 2.8
still amazing

think the rate wil go down a bit as it usually does in the high season but i guess you can predict anything

In the last 9 years I have always found that I get the bank rate -0.04 to -0.06 Lira from the supermarkets, Fridays bank rate close was 2.87750 so expent 2.81 to 2.83 in resort, the gamble is the rate when you travel cannot be predicted, it will depend on how the UK does versus how Turkey is doing economically, it could go higher, it could plummet, last year the pound got stronger from July peaking in August but I have also seen it do the opposite.
If I was going this year I personally would get 50% of my spend changed now as I can get 2.78, this would protect me against fluctuations, each person has to decide for themselves.
