Change of plans

After deciding a couple of months ago that we would be staying at the Grand Aquarium, we have had a change of heart after looking at some other hotels. Now, we are looking to book the Ekinci Palace next week. A couple of factors changed our minds. The Ekinci is closer to the centre of the resort, the pool slide is apparently open for 5 hours every day as opposed to the 30 mins at the GA (which our boys are more than happy about) and, not least, it is working out cheaper than the GA.

Anyone ever been to the Ekinci before? The reviews I have found for it are pretty positive.

We fly out on 12th September Sandy. Thanks very much for your offer, i'll look forward to hearing all about it when you get back. If there's anything I can think of meantime, I will let you know.

By the way, if you have facebook the hotel has it's own page with plenty of photos;

We're going back to Ekinci for the 3rd time next week. It's a nice location, close to the old village, but not too far from the centre. The rooms are fairly basic, but clean and comfortable, and the pool is great for kids. You can buy basic necessities at reception and the restuarant does good food. There's a pool table and free internet in the bar. Any questions, I'll try to answer them for you.

Thanks Canli. Is it true that the pool slide is open for 5 hours each day, between 12 and 5pm? This will be a big thing for our 2 boys and is one of the main reasons we decided to switch from the GA.

Thanks Canli and Caltonian for info and the link.
Just had a look on FB and the apartments do look nice, just hoping we dont get an attic room as i am a heavy smoker but always smoke on the balcony and not in the room.

Hi, I stayed at the Ekinci a few years ago and the slide was open a lot with a few breaks in between and our girls loved the slides. We also had a attic room and they have plenty of room plus the walk in shower could have taken 4 people at a time it was lovely. The only problem we had was the hassling from the bar staff who became quite abusive and then did not speak at all, but they change every year so hopefully you will not have this problem. Enjoy yourselves whatever you decide.

Ive stayed at the Ekinci many times now and cant fault them. Im going back in 3 weeks time. Large pool is open before 12 oclock. and you can lie beside the pool from early morning. Food fab, rooms basic but clean and staff are brilliant. You will have the time of your life there. :D :D :D
