Anyone passed the Hotel Private I was wondering if there is any building or changes going on there for this season.

Awww that's cruel (but funny), stayed there many a time and had a ball. I like a bit quirky, seems to suit me, so it feels a bit like home to me

maryb, I remember the day's of the manager Mr. Ali, Bobby on the desk, Annie the (superb) housekeeper etc. etc. We, like you, stayed for several years but it was getting too tatty and too much noise from the bars surrounding it for the price, so we moved on. But lots of fond memories of leaving the Old Famous Kitchen in the wee small hours and creeping back trying to be quiet. Breakfast on the terrace, cookie's omlettes & homemade pizas.
Good times but wouldn't go back now we have found other places that are better.

It could be a very good hotel but it needs quite a bit of investment.

Have a great time - whenever you go.
