Decided to be brave and get my first ever tattoo

Been thinking about getting in when in icmeler, but everyone at home saying dont due to various reasons including the equipment not being clean etc...

just wondered if anyone had got one done? and any tips/advice you may have for me

I'm not going to say don't get one done whilst in Icmeler, however be aware that if you do get one it takes some looking after for a few days until it heals. You'll not be able to go swimming and it'll need to be protected from the sun.

I've never had a tattoo but have noticed that quite a few people have it done just before they return home.

we had our first ones last year, go to underground market having another done this year just wait until last few days of your holiday. sue

Hi Gem 2710,have no fears.Had all my tattoos,six in total, done in Icmeler Biker Harry's shop & Icmeler Ink scrupulously clean,new needle used every time.Buy a small tube of antiseptic cream, Germolene or similar, here save u the bother of goin' to the chemist there.All the best.Ali.

Hi, having read the answers to the original question, I would say this. Obviously cleanliness and safety are of the utmost importance but something else to think about is the work that you want done. unlike having a dog, this really is for life. I have tattoos, some which I really like, some that I regret. The point of my post is to say that make sure that the artist you choose can deliver the result that you want. If you just want a butterfly or devil type thing then go anywhere but you will live to regret. Choose carefully and enjoy the art.Mark

I had my 1st tattoo done at Harry's biker shop along with my niece and brother in law who also had one done and he showed me the new clean needle beforehand.I did it a couple of hours b4 flying home as it needs to be out of the sun and swimming pool! I bought a tube of bepanthan plus from the chemist in Icmeler (about 6 Lira) and I put it in a plastic bag with me on the plane and kept putting it on my tattoo! Not a problem with it!! Good luck

hi gem,had one done with seyhmus at the entrance of the underground market last year no problems what so ever. recommend you have it done on the final day of your hols, plenty of tips on the internet of tattoo care if you need them good luck mike.

Seamus in the underground market has done most of mine and, if I say so myself, they are superb! He's also done a number of my OH's too, including an amazing cover up of a name on his back. Most of ours have been his designs from an outline we've given him, and he has designed them just for us (photo's will be in his albums!). Go talk to him about what you want, see what he suggests, his work is really very good. I've always had mine a few days before we've come home, but the OH likes his done when we first get there so he knows it'll be right before we go home, Seamus tells him he's crazy!

Of course, the other side of things is to make sure it's something you want as you'll have it a long time. I had a line of text in my head for a good few years before I took the plunge and had it done on my back, and I've since had it added to. I've got several on my back, but I class them as one big work in progress, so really I only have 3 in total - I don't regret my first one at all, but the second one was done on a whim, and it's on my wrist too so it's visable. I don't dislike it, but I do sometimes think I should have thought about it more before having it done.

Whatever you decide, you can be sure you'll be safe getting it done in Icmeler.
