Thanks Laney, is this something we would need to book before we leave the uk, or can we just book it when we arrive?

Had a fantastic day out on 16th July - so relaxing and just the type of trip we were looking for. Were a bit apprehensive about travelling in a jeep but thoroughly enjoyed it. Enjoyed seeing the "love road" as first visited it in 1996 (my name is carved on a tree there somewhere). Had a wee paddle in the stream at the olive grove - so refreshing. Akyaka is absolutely stunning, the houses are breathtaking. Loved the trip down the river on the boat seeing all the wildlife, despite there not being as much going about as usual. The water is crystal clear and so inviting. Lunch, which was included in the price, was great. Finally got my cossie wet at the swimming pool we stopped at outside Marmaris, a great way to end the day. The scenery throughout the day was brill. I would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone. I bought the souvenir photo cd of the day - money well spent I think. Many thanks to Rachael and Mustapha for a great day out. :D

We went on this trip yesterday and had a great day up to the point were our jeep with Mustapha driving it got stopped by the police. First problem was Mustapha did not have his driving license on him so we had to sit on the hard shoulder for 30 mins while we waited for someone to bring it for him. Then the police had a problem with the jeep so they escorted us to Marmaris where they took our photos and names. We had to change jeeps and they took Mustapha and his jeep away. We where then dropped in the middle of Icmeler, not at our hotels and had to walk back.

Not a good way to end a nice day.

We did the trip last Monday, and am guessing we had the same jeep! Took us over an hour and a half to get to the first stop, and that was without having had to wait an hour at a restaurant in icmeler for them to get all the jeep safari people away before we left, so was gone 10.30 before we got going!
The jeep was literally doing 5mph up the main mountain roads out of Marmaris and was making lots of popping/spluttering noises, Which in turn meant we had very little time at each stop, and then got dropped off 40 minutes earlier than we should have been.
Shame as we were really looking forward to it, but due to the jeep problems it was just all way too rushed.
But fair play to ICR, Michelle offered to compensate us, but it wasn't their fault, so we were not willing to see them out of pocket.

Absolutely brilliant trip, can't recommend highly enough, great day out and such a beautiful location. Definitely on our must see again for next May when there is even more wildlife on the Akyaka river.

We also had a fantastic day out with Rachel, despite a problem with one of the jeeps and we had to wait at Captain Sinbad's for a spare part and a mechanic. We were on our way and stopped off at the 'rock tombs' (if you can call them that - but if you've been to Dalyan, you will know why :))
Stopped at the Olive Farm for a refreshing paddle in the stream and gift shop, then onto Akayaka. A lovely place, which unfortunately was heaving, with Turks on their extended holiday after Ramadam. The weather was so hot, but we were unable to get onto the beach for a swim :(. We thoroughly enjoyed the boat trip, along crystal clear waters, and the boat stopped for a swim break, for those who were keen and brave enough for the icy water.
After a lovely lunch, we wandered again, and took some great photos, and finished the day by detouring through Gokova on the way back.
This trip made a welcome change to the usual jeep safari's etc. and many thanks to Rachel our guide. 8)

We were on the same one without knowing it, I agree it was brilliant trip and I would recommend it but I would like to do something different next year.

Having visited Icmeler in October last year, we again hired ourselves a jeep and visited Akyaka. It is everything Icmeler on line describes and much more. It's a very beautiful place and we will be having a relaxing day on this excursion this August. We can highly recommend it!

There will be two interested parties wanting to go on this trip in late September, we arrive late 20th / early 21st, and will acclimatise first for a couple of days.

We can come over, chat & book during acclimatisation time - that means an extra beer and tea when it's too hot to lay out as we darken in colour!

Be good to meet everyone and also talk rates for 2014!

Just found our photo cd purchased on the Akayaka trip last September, it was still sealed, never been opened, it brought back great memories, the only issue was there were far too many photos of me and I definately need to go on a diet.

lol, I know what you mean, I was looking at our photo's from the jeep safari, I definitely won't be winning any 'wet T-shirt' competitions unless I loose at least a stone

Only a stone, you're lucky, make it about five/six for me.
