hi all,we also had the same problem with the staff at kleopatra, we stayed sept 2011, we got hassled to eat in the restaurant but we wanted to go into town (it is our holiday after all) we did stay for the turkish night (which was rubbish, over cooked burgers, cremated sausages etc) we didn`t stay for food again and was totally ignored for the rest of the 2 weeks so we went just down the hill to the oren aparts and used their pool and restaurant during the day and they were great but has other reviewers have said the kleopatra are clean and have large rooms other than that would not go back :?

My husband, 17year old daughter and me all love the kleopatra so much we are returning for a 3rd year in a row in July. The staff can give you a little bit of hassle about if your eating there on the night but you just say no and they dont bother you until the next day. The staff are really friendly. and if your interested in a turkish night it is very good. Its very clean, and family run.
Hope this helps :)

my wife son and i stayed at these apts 2008 everything was ok for first couple of days then we were asked to move across the road into a top floor aprt above where the owners lived .did not mind as the aprt had 4 bedrooms and with windows open nice and cool .when i had a promlem with a child that could not swim in the pool we ended up going down to the faber hotel and using there pool .we were followed by the man on reception to see where we were going we will neyer go back to these apts

i have stayed at the kleopatra next to the market and had no problem with it at all. There is only entertainment on once a week which is their turkish night. The food was nice (never ate there at night but had snacks there during the day), staff friendly very close to the market and overall a nice experience

I stayed at kleopatra last year in October and thought it was great, very spacious rooms and found the staff very friendly, so we've booked to go in July. At the end of the day I think most apartments will hassle you to eat there as we had this last year when we stayed next door at the tokmak, they just want your custom like all the restaurants in icmeler :)

We've stayed here for the last 3 years and are returning in July also. The staff are very friendly and never felt hassled to eat there. Roll on 9 July for our return to lovely Icmeler. :D

Do any of these places give hassle if drinking your own soft drinks and snacks round the pool?

Yes

Prices in Icmeler are so low because the owners of the establishments think that they will entice more people to their properties and then make their monies from drinks and food served around the pool areas and bars there

It will not be allowed to brink your own food or drink to the pools and there will be a sign stating this

The only way around it is to rent a villa but then you will find that you will pay a "proper" price for it

I wondered because whenever we have been in the past (last time 2010) Ive never had any hassle, but read on a few threads that it seems like they give hassle now.

Just didnt want to cause an international incident by having a can of coke or whatever.

Cheers
