Icmeler In May

Postby Tiberius » 12 Jan 2012 13:15

Hi Folks,

Just wondering if any of you guys could let me know what Icmeler is like in early May? i.e weather, amount of people etc.

We were planning on going back in September again for a couple of weeks but we've recently found out we're expecting a baby mid August so May is the cut off point for a last minute break before the new addition arrives :D

Cheers In advance.

We book every year for mid may & then another Aug/sept.

I dont know about early May but mid may is fine. not too busy and not too quiet. Weather last year was 90+ during the day but a bit breezy on an evening. But overall is a fine month to go before it starts to creep up to the 100f+

Again we fly on may 21st and again on Sept 18th. " great months to go! hope this helps? :D

Tiberius, First of all congratulations, wish you all the best for a smooth passage through pregnancy. Icmeler in May is lovely. The earlier you go the cooler it may be but gradually warms up as the month progresses. Its still possible to get a shower but not for certain. The evenings can be cool they also can be warm, you just cannot tell. It's good to see the place without too many people about and the resort in the middle of waking up. Most things of any consequence are open. If you go and have bad weather for the whole of your time there you will be very unlucky.

Enjoy
David

Congratulations Tiberius. Içmeler is great for children. Our eldest granddaughter first visited when she was five weeks old and her sister when she was four months old and we usually go in July without a problem. So after this year's holiday you shouldn't be limited as to what month you go.

Many congrats on your bump news! I always go in May, and have done each part of it over the years. The start of May is lovely, not too quiet but not so many folk about, and everything opening up again all fresh and clean. And of course you get the start of season bargains too! :)

I've had a couple of cloudy days in early May, an odd rain storm here and there but in general the temp is good, and the evenings ok too - maybe just need a wrap or a cardi.

We're not going til 25th this year, so we'll miss that first part - enjoy it!

Thanks all for the kind words, advice and congratulations :D

Don't think there's any question of where we'd be going but just thought i'd ask the question to ease my mind  Sure we can cope with an odd rain shower here and there. As long as the temp is over 20 i'll be happy!!

If we can afford it, will most likely be around May 10th that we make the trip. Unfortunately only a week this time around but it's better than nothing at all :)

We arrived for our first visit to Icmeler on May 6th last year, we had one day when it showered for about 20 mins, one night when it poured like crazy and our last day was a bit overcast. Other than those times the weather was beautiful had 27 upwards and evenings it was around 17.
I managed to burn really badly on the beach after only being on there for 45 minutes I was a little more than lobstered haf the side of my body, sadly it was only the second day so didnt get to go to the beach after that :)
I would definitely go back in May as it was quieter however when I was talking to Rami when we were there one thing I said was the amount of businesses (restaurants and bars mostly) that pounced on you like mad, he did say that because it was the first week of the season they were just so energized and wasnt huge amounts of people so they were competing like mad for business. This was the only downfall we found.
There is a video on here somewhere that I think it was JT that took and there was a monster sized thunderstorm that happened not long after we got back. It poured like crazy.
