Icmeler Online Holiday Forum & Reviews - Turkey

When in Icmeler in September 2011 I was talking to a prominent hotel/restaurant owner and he said there is to be a new development in the area around the cash machines. This development would see the removal of the famous 'green car' as it is regarded by locals as an eyesore.

Has anyone else heard this?

Yes i have heard that they are making it into a venue for concerts etc, the cash machines i believe are being moved up to the taxi rank at the end of the canal

There are several big developements in Icmeler for next season.
Tansas in Marmaris has been demolished and an outdoor venue area is to be built.

Its still there Gene but they have just started on Burger King and the shop next door.

Tansas is empty though ready for the flattening

3 bells is being demolished so is the shops and the older kardelin to make way for a supermarket and bus station, not sure if avlu is going as this is in between 3 bells and the shops by kardelin

I cant trust my sources John,got to rely on the man on the spot.

Mehmet told me last night that the owners of the 3 bells have cost him money as he has built the new 3 bells and the proper opening was last night but now the owner of the original is not demolishing it

Gene I was having a cay across the road from Tansas yesterday watching the rip out of Burger King so maybe they may have started ripping the metal from Tansas now befor they demolish it

They do change their minds but does this mean that the bus station and supermarket wont be built, memhet at the Kardelin opened a new restaurant as he said the old one was being demolished this year

Are they going to build a replacement Tansas in Marmaris? Wont be the same when I do my shopping

Nobody has mentioned if they have heard anything about the green car.

In my conversation with the local bar/restaurant owner he said it was going to be removed - not relocated.

Personally I think that this is part of Icmeler and wouldn't like it to disappear altogether.

Anybody heard anything?

hi yes its just going to be behind the one thats there now

Hi there,new Tansas open is on main road from Icmeler.As for 3(4)Bells according to what Mehmet told me it will still be there next season though not in the same guise.New place will be sports bar allegedly,you can never be sure though, as when it comes to business Turks will never tell you what they are really planning.
