Get the dolmus with OLD VILLAGE on the front from the terminus at the beach end and it will give you a cheap tour of the village showing you all you want to know.
Dont forget to get off before you start heading for Marmaris!!!

I always stay in the Old Village because its so lovely and quiet. It is only a 10 minute stroll into the main part of Icmeler unless you are right up towards the back of the village when it would become a 15 min stroll. Either way, it does not seem to matter how long it takes because its a really nice walk. You get to see some of the other apartments, their pools, villagers houses, their crops & gardens and in the early evening its lovely.

As you come out of the village more towards town, there is part of the village that has now become more commercial and there are a few bars & restaurants. Heading then further into town it becomes more populated with restaurants which are all well worth a visit. Once into the town of Icmeler there are even more places to choose from.

I have booked to stay at a place called Rhodes Apartments, they are situated just into the Old Village so I have the best of both worlds. Peace & quiet, mountain back drop and a nice walk into town every evening.

The old village is nice for a quiet retreat and as Sami stated its only a 15 min stroll in to town. I have stayed twice in the old village ( quite far up in the village) and you have Tommys for food and quiz night and a few small supermarkets. If you chose to do so you can walk down beside the dry canal for about 10 mins and you start to hit the more populated parts of Icmeler. There are some lovely sights to see in the old village and it is really nice in the evening.

The old town/village part of Icmeler is lovely - the best advice I can give is to simply go for a wander. It's lovely just walking around all the little alleyways and seeing where some of the locals live. It's very relaxing and peaceful.

Hey crazybabe. You will love Ekinci Palace. The staff are brilliant, right down to the lovely cleaning ladies. I have stayed there a few times now. Nothing is too much bother for them. Pool is spotless, meals great. Lots of other nice eating places in the area.Cabana behind the Ekinci is a fav of mine. Just go for a wander and enjoy the experience. Next year will be my 9th visit to Icmeler :D :D :D
