do you all feel the currency has peaked as you can get 281 from m and s for next year

How does that work then geordiedave1964 ? It goes up and down every day so I would be interested to know how to secure the rate. The rate this year has been excellent though, it might have reached its high, but who knows

I presumed he meant buying it at that rate just now and keeping it for next year just in case it goes down. The thing with the currency markets though is that if we could predict what the rate was going to be next year, we could all be very rich indeed... It's all a gamble, isn't it...depends if you're willing to take the chance of buying it now in case it goes down again.

I'm very tempted, and if it does go up well then so be it,last year we got 2.32,this year was great ,so who knows , you know what they say about a " bird in the hand ".

We've changed our money for next year as we thought it was worth the gamble. Over the last ten years it's only been this high once and that was in 2006 and in September 2008 went down as low as 1.9. Usually the rate varies between 2.3 and 2.5 during the summer months so to get 2.8 is pretty good. It's always a gamble and if we'd waited another couple of days we would have got 2.858. As we're going self catering for three weeks having the higher rate will make a lot of difference.

If money was no object and the rate was higher next year, we could change more money and keep the lira we had at 2.8 and use it when the rate was lower. Unfortunately we haven't got a money tree so that's not an option.

I had loads of lira left over from August but as I'm going to Kizkalesi in November that'll get spent so I'm going to change more up for next year as I agree that the rate is excellent now and I feel it's worth the risk. If it does go up again before next year so be it but if it goes down I'll be happy

Flying out tomorrow for a week. We got lira two weeks ago at M&S at 2.79. Got it because the rate had started to come down. Got more last week at it went back up to 2.82. It might be higher in resort next week but you just haveto decide whether to take the chance or not.

If we knew the answer to that one we could all be millionaires!Got to be worth the risk though....and is an excellent rate if you are lucky enough to have some spare money to go and buy for next year.

Wish I could, but just paid 1000 for 4 flights for next year.
Will see what rates like after christmas and maybe get some then
