valid passport

Postby raji » 05 Sep 2011 17:58

i am looking at coming out on the 26th sept and leaving around the 13th oct but have just realised my passport expires 12th of march 2012 so will not have 6 months left on it. has anyone actually travelled with less than the 6 months left ( some websites say your passport only needs to be valid at time of travel only but i am not sure ) any help welcomed

I would get yourself to a passport office and get it renewed

It can be done in a day and I should heed my own advice

Passports are scanned on entry into Turkey. Worst case is that you could be denied entry. Just had to renew mine. Took just over a week for standard service.

My granddaughter, as it was her first passport at twenty weeks old had to go for a face-to-face interview. We rang for an interview appointment on a Thursday, they offered us the next day but we couldn't make it so then they offered us one on the following Monday. We used the fast Track service and the passport was delivered the following Wednesday. Less than 48 hours later. I know you have to pay a little more but the service is excellent and it's good to know that you can get a passport at short notice, if you have to.
