T-shirts.....3 for £10 or 25tl!!

Postby Chris221273 » 05 Sep 2011 16:34

Just been looking at my pics and realised something.
I saw a few people buying T-shirts with English money.
But having just worked it out, even with the current rate it's cheaper to use lira than Stirling!
Saw a few people handing over ten pound notes!!!

yep Chris, we spotted the same - soon learnt to either pay in Lira or if paying in English, having my mobile to hand so I could do a quick calc based on 2.8 exchange rate as that's what we were getting for most of our 3 week stay

this also paid off [pardon the pun] when flying home - extra legroom seats were quoted as being either £10 or 25 TL - paid in TL and I worked it out to be £8.69! bargain I reckon!!

Bought embroidered towels at the shop near the Blue Fox. Didn't have enough Lira on us at the time to get the best deal so we paid in Sterling. The helpful shopkeeper told us that if we called back within the next few days with the Lira he'd give us the sterling back. He definitely has my custom :D

Yes, A lovely man. Next year I'll be taking all my measurements with me to have cushions etc made for me as a lot of things can be made-to-measure. :)
