I just read a review by Bazza in the review section and I noticed that you thought you had an item of property stolen in majestic although you couldn't prove this. Is this majestic on the canal?

It's interesting you should say this as when I was in Majestic in 2009 years ago I 'lost' a very small purse I had bought out with me and unfortunately I had just drawn out £100. I know I had it with me when I went into the restaurant & i popped to the little shop right next door to it to get chewing gums after my main course. As we were paying the bill, about 20 minutes later I realised it was missing. I asked all the staff and run next door to the shop - no one had seen it. I searched the small distance between the shop and table I was sitting on - nothing! The manger said he would check the whole restaurant that night when they cleaned up but when we went back the next day they hadn't found it. Lucikly I was with my mum on holiday so she paid for me for the rest of the holiday but it left us tight!
I didn't accuse the staff at the time and I'm not now but I think it's interesting you also had a piece of property go missing at the same time and I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience?

If people did have a similar experience then what it could say is that the Majestic is so densly packed with people who you don't know and moving about going to toilets and getting up to dance that maybe there was a light fingered tourist around.

Impossible to blame anyone for it but I do know that it is more that a waiters life to do something like that.

One thing though is always be careful with personal belongings as you would not leave a wallet on a table in the UK and go the toilet

I think its important to keep your purse safely in your handbag and handbag firmly zipped or fastened and don't let it out of your sight. I agree with JT- it could have been anyone and it could have happened anywhere, in fact more likely to happen here in the UK. I never take safetly for granted and always take care of my possesions even when in a relatively crime free gentle place like Icmeler.
Even after a few bevvies of Efes I always hang on to my handbag!

I wish we could go for a night out together then Chocoholic because I'm notorious for losing things as soon as I've had a drink, lol! xx

The only time i saw something lost in Majestic was when a lady left her handbag in there and the waiter run up the canel to return it.
I would trust staff in the Majestic every time.

I think the only "interesting" comparison between Bazza's and Sophia's experiences is that it's mere coincidence. I can't imagine for a moment that staff anywhere would take a customer's purse or belongings - as JT said, it would be madness for a waiter to do any such thing!

We've left a couple of things behind over the years, including a camcorder and blackberry and only realised later - on both occasions, the items were sat waiting for us when we returned. This was both in different bars and neither of them were the Majestic.

I bought a folding handbag hook from ebay. What a brilliant idea, it's magnetic and fits onto the restaurant/bar table, not only keeping your bag safe but also your bag doesn't get dirty whilst on the floor. A couple of pounds well spent :)

We've forgotten something in different restaurants quite a number of times and always had them returned. In fact we've even had someone bring something back to us in the apartments we were staying at. We were in the Set once when they brought a mobile over to us that someone had left behind. They asked me if I could phone someone on the phonebook to let them know they had the phone safe. I rang the person's mother who thought it was a wind-up at first. Luckily the person who had lost the phone was in içmeler with her sister and so her mother rang her to say the phone was in the Set. This is definitely going the extra mile!
