Hi all
Need your help/advise,my Girlfriend & I hope to go to icmeler (1st time to Turkey!) to celebrate our engagement!
We hope to stay at the "hotel Marti holiday village"(any comments on hotel?) but due to work we can either go begining of May or late September/early October?
We needed to know which months have the better weather and is everything open I.E. shops, cafes etc? Also is scuba diving available?
How far is Marmaris? Is it within walking distance or local bus?
Would REALLY REALLY appreciate any help or advice?
Many Thanks
Martin

Hi
We've been in May, Sept and Oct (been going for about ten years). Early May and October evenings can be cool so a light wrap is useful. Sept. is the warmest. Sometimes it can rain for a couple of hours but then clears up and sunny as usual. Congrats on your engagement - enjoy your stay in Icmeler :D :D

Hiya Martin, We have stayed at the Marti, We stayed there 3 or 4 years ago now, can't remember and it was lovely. So much so we are back again there on Thursday 24th! The pools are lovely, the room was a lovely size, although a couple of recent reviews say they need updating and are a bit scruffy! I'm afraid I can't comment on that as as I said before our room was lovely when we went. The staff were great, and the food was pretty nice as well, although like all the hotels I suppose it can get a bit samey!!! I remember the drinks were quite expensive and we had a plastic charge card but we paid up regularly otherwise it can mount up. The pools are set in lovely gardens where there was plenty of shade if that's what you want. My hubby can't stand glaring sunshine all the time, and as it is very hot at the moment, I will be with him on that one! Icmeler itself is lovely, much prefer it to Marmaris, personal preference, sorry if I offended anyone, each to his own!!!! It's quieter than Marmaris but still quite lively, the canal is very pretty. Now, diving. My hubby is a qualified scuba diver in fact he qualified 2 years ago in Icmeler, and he always goes with Divers Delight. Their office is right at the end of the bay past the Munamar hotel. Alan tried to do his final task in England to qualify, but due to an ear infection was unable to do so. When he went with Divers Delight they made him do a trail dive again, and he was watched very carefully before he qualified. He felt very safe with them, and they were very well organised. He went with another dive company in Fethiye last year but felt the safety wasn't as good. He said if you need any other information, please don't hesitate to ask, either on the board, or pm me! Hope this is useful to you Martin

Martin, congratulations
All of your questions seem to have been answered, but it's worth mentioning thatICR office is worth visiting while you are there - the chaps are fonts of knowledge and have a range of boat trips/excursions etc etc at good prices.
The office is next to the Chill Bar on the main square where the ATMs are, am sure they'd be able to answer any Qs you may have.

HOpe you have a loverly time!!
