Back home to rain and riots

Postby Dancing Lucy » 10 Aug 2011 17:04

After a lovely relaxing week in Icmeler we have returned to rain and then last night riots in Manchester, all was fine around 6pm and my daughter and her husband took advantage of their children being taken on holiday by other grandparents and went into manchester for a meal after only half hour it was chaos they were running down the streets trying to get away but there were kids and adults on pushbikes everywhere throwing bricks and pulling metal parking barriers up and smashing them through windows. Caroline was terrified the buses had all been stopped and train station shut she phoned me crying to try and get her I drove to town and was horrified by the scenes kids as young as 9 or 10 were there also cars driving to shops loads of kids getting out and robbing then jumping back in whilst car sped away with the loot. Luckily I got my daughter and her hubby and took them home safely makes me ashamed to come from Manchester though wish I had stayed another week in paradise.

Glad to hear you got your daughter home safely.

They have all gone mad and if I have to register another claim for riots I will go mad

Hi,
My wife 'Duffy' works on Deansgate, Manchester. She finished work at 5.00pm, got to car at 5.20, and it took 50minutes to travel a 15minute journey, due to gridlock, another member of staff had people jumping on her car whilst still in it.
All seemed quiet today, but store closed early anyway. Glad you were able to get them out.
Mindless acts, is all I can say as words fail me.
