Learn Turkish

Postby teac532s » 06 Aug 2011 20:19

Hope I dont break any forum rules here and if I do mods please delete
I have read a few threads on the forum about learning Turkish and I decided i would like to have a go as well. I did a bit of searching on the web and it seems that the best 2 programs are Rosetta Stone ( very expensive ) which I have and Pimsleur (expensive ) which I also have. Now , heres a bit of an offer for anyone who wants it.

I can send anyone who wants it on a dvd a copy of the pimsleur turkish lessons for free. All i ask is you cover the postage and package. It consists of 30 half hour lessons in mp3 format so can be listened to on pc , iphone , android , mp3 player etc.
I have listened to the lessons and while they seem difficult at first I know they will be learnable.

So if anyone wants to avail of a copy just pm me for details.

Mods... I am not trying to make any money here just offering to help anyone who wishes to learn Turkish.
The post and package will just cover the dvd and sending it

Again hope I have not broken any rules here

That is very nice of you. But ooooops, hope no-one from the powers that be or the makers of Pimsleur are reading this! I would like a copy but there is no facility to PM and there is no little envelope at the side of your ost to enable members to e-mail you. I believe you go to user control panel at the top and then onto profile to enable it.

Teac you are very good to do that but there is another way

I have the same Pimleseur which I can upload to my safe place and then anyone wishing to can download it

If you already have this paid for  then it isn't against the law to download a back up version of which I can supply

My wife has it on her Ipod and drives me crazy repeating it

I bought the Rosetta Stone, Level 1,2,3 and I have nearly completed Unit 1 - it does get a bit harder as we go on. Its sometimes quite difficult to realise what the pics are saying, but I am enjoying it.

I would love a copy of the pimsleur - never heard of that one - thank you Teac and JT :D

I agree the pictures are sometimes harder than the course.
The pictures are the same on all the units.

Thankfully I have my Turkish dictionary and the Verb book to fall back on to realise what they ARE saying - otherwise, I love it.
