Hi,
My son went a few months back and hired a quad he did a couple of jumps with it and when he landed the axle broke in half, they are not well maintained so in my opinion best left alone, my son races motocross bikes and said the same, up to you really, and check your holiday insurance they might not cover you.

went to Crete in June, Stalis and Malia are like Quad bike city, also saw a steady procession of ambulances tooing and froing with RTC injuries sustained on said quad bikes.
If you really want to experience riding a qud why dont you book one of the organised trips. I've done it myself and it is money well spent.

Hi mad
Ive been thinking of letting my son who is 13yr old and my hubby who acts like 13yr old when on holiday, try quadbiking on an organised trip this year.Would this be suitable for a 13yr old to do one of the organised trips. They have no experience at this so some advice would be welcome regarding safety, cost and area they would be riding in.
Cheers

Went on the trip last year. Cant remember exact cost but wasn't too expensive.
It's in a custom built off road centre at the back of Marmaris, full tuition and safety gear are provided. Your two 13 year olds will love it.

There are no licence requirements. The quad centre is on private land so anyone can have a go. You are picked up by mini bus and taken to the centre.
As for hiring a quad for use on the road I should imagine that you need a full UK car entitlement.

Not being a party pooper but for anyone wanting to rent a quad just be aware it's nothing like driving a car.
They can be quite hard to ride unless your experienced, and going round corners is nothing like in a car.
As I say, not wanting to be a party pooper, but riding a quad on the road compared to off road is completely different, and unless its actually a road quad, with road Tyres, not that great at handling!!

i know rode em for years.would prefer a scooter for tootling around but apparently you cant hire them on a car licence so a quad seems a cheaper option than a car.i am not talking about a yamaha raptor 700 rr just something to get about on,If i wanted thrills could do that at home.Does anyone know answer to licence question please??

I just had a browse through google and found one post from someone who lives in turkey, and they said as far as they know you need a motorbike license to drive a quad in turkey.
But I Wouldn't take that as gospel, as it was on another forum.
