hi, been to icmeler a few times and always make the same mistake with phone card when trying to phone uk...can anyone tell me the correct code when using public phone kiosk to ring home...cheerz gaz

It's 0044 then drop the 0 from the area code or mobile number

cheerz, that sounds familiar..

If you buy your phone card in Icmeler, there are 2 different one's depending on whether you will be phoning mobile's or landlines. We buy the landline one, it has a scratch panel on it and a number to phone. You ring the number on the card and someone who speaks very good english asks you to key in the number under the scratched off panel. She tells you how many minutes you have left, then you dial the number you require as Alison has described. We bought ours at asda supermarket which is down the road from de ja vu. It cost 10 lira and we got 47 minutes of talk time.

i just bourght a phone card for 10 lira, then oo44, and the code( without the 0) and number......got some very weird dialling tones, then straight through, and very clear....

i phoned home everyday, sometimes twice, and the 1 phone card still had credits on when i came home...

when i put it in the phone box it told me how many credits i had left.....

Where did you buy your card from Karen? Can I ask how much it cost and how many credits?

Always buy ours in post office cheaper and last if still got credit till next turkish holiday,although i have to phone my daughter her on mobile seam to get plenty of time to chat to her just dial 0044 drop first 0 then get straight through on their number if i can do it after cocktails and red wine sure it be fine have to put specs on though its dark by then! Roll on Sept.....

come out of the road from palm gardens, down past wonderboys, to the end supermarket, when i bourght it, bless him, he came to the phone box to show me what to press.....

I just go into any supermarket and ask for a 10 lira phone card. I call mobiles and landlines and I always still have credit left for the next holiday. Just insert the card and it shows how much credit is left, then just dial in the usual way of 0044 etc.
