Help please - Mola or Daystar?

Postby Fanny » 28 Jun 2011 06:59

Stayed in town on last few visits and fancy staying further back, somewhere with a nice pool and within walking distance of town and somewhere that does reasonable food, near a supermarket too. Don't fancy a roof room! And plenty of hot water too
Narrowed it down to either Mola or Daystar - anyone stayed in either recently and can help us decide please?
Thanks

stayed at daystar last june.rooms cleaned every day .good pool in the sun allday.the only problem we had was you cannot take food or drinks you have bought outside to pool area, also they wanted you to eat there because the staff work on a comission only basis.but enjoyed our stay, would go back again

But you cannot take your own drinks/food to any hotel pool! They are in business to make money and if they serve food, and you're bringing it in from outside, your effectively taking money off them.

We stayed at the Mola in September last year, wonderful place run by a really lovely family. Downside - it's quite a trek into town, a good mile or so. That's the only downside I could give, it's not too big, food is limited but very good and lots of regulars who go back year after year. We popped up to say hello in May and bumped into a couple that were there when we were in September!

Not stayed in the Daystar so can't really compare, I believe it's closer in and next to the Mosque. However, if you are ok for a bit of a walk then the Mola is good, and has a supermarket 2 minutes away.

I have stayed at Daystar many times, last time being last year in June. The rooms are clean and linen changed etc and the pool is nice and clean too. I agree that the staff are the pain in your side most of the time. They do work on commission and were constantly on at us to stay and eat. We did and it was not all that, so didn't again.

Have you looked at Rhodes Apartments, I am staying at Eden this year which has been mentioned a couple of times but for a really good size pool, you can't beat Rhodes.

Hi Fanny,
the nearest supermarket is approx 100yds, near the cross roads of Wembley, Lovestar and old Ozzys, can't remember if it's 24hours. I think there is a dolmus stop near sun village (dry canal one)

Hi Fanny, the Daystar are opposite the Rhodes, not too far out, but plenty of drinking places on route.
