Tipping

Do you tip the maid on the first day you see her ?
When i work away i always tips my room attendant say $20 first day and i always find they bend over backwards to help you and you're room is always spotless.
Is 20/30 lira fine ?

Obviously in bars & restaurants it's up to yourself if you feel the service was good or not , i always leave something wither it's rounding up or more if the service has been excellent.

The transfer is £78 so let's face it who's gona get the change out and give the £8 , it'll be rounded to £80 so how much would you tip the driver, i'm assuming the cash will go to his gaffer and the £2 = 5lira.

£80 is still £80 and a lot of money, however i'd imagine the driver doesn't see any of that apart from his wages.

I tip the maids at the end of the holiday, the barmen get my loose change each day when I settle my bill, they get a bigger tip at the end of the holiday. When out I either round up or leave 10 Lira which ever is smaller, I don't tip for just a drink.

I always tip the maids at the end of the holiday, there is usually 2 and I give them £10 each, plus any sugar/ teabags/sweets/chocolate I have left of which they are glad to have epecially the latter. The ones I have had in the very many apartments I have stayed in I couldn't fault the cleanliness even though I havn't tipped them first and they are very friendly. Funny though, I tend to tidy up for the maid coming- dont want them thinking I am a slob! I know some dont do this but it makes their job harder, I have seen other peoples rooms that look like they have been burgled!

I tend to give the cleaning lady a tip half way through my three weeks, and the same at the end of my hols. Never known anybody like her. She does all the cleaning herself - 20 apartments! She deserves all the tips she can get. Bless.

I also tend to tip the house cleaning(Maid sounds so dickension) at the end of the stay and the amount is dependendant on how good a job they've done. Never been to Icmeler, but apart from one place in Greece the cleaning is top notch. Barman in the hotel I'm staying at I tend to round it up, after all you will probably see more of them than any other barman, and I've always found those little tips after each drink tend to find their way back to you in the form of more generous measures!!
As for restaurants, if I have a good meal in the uk, with good service I will normally leave a fiver or if the bill is say £43.00 then £7.00 pounds. The thing I've always found with tourist destinations is the staff never forget a face, or a generous tipper, and will bend over backwards for you the next time you go in!!
