hand luggage definitely, always carry anything of value on me.

I work abroad quite a bit and last month a member of our team left a laptop and an ipod in their case (why i don't know) reaches our work in the bahamas and case has been opened and said contents were missing.

always carry it with you.

I agree carry any valubles with you in your handluggage.

Last year on my suitcase I had a little padlock and when I collected it at Dalaman the lock was gone. Probably snapped off with being thrown about as my clothes didn't look as though they had been rumaged through but you never know.

Some airlines are very strict about only letting you carry one bag onto the plane though, so make sure you have a bag which you can put the notebook/laptop into if they insist. Daughter and I saw folk struggling to cram laptops and other stuff into their carry-on bags with one airline.

Also worthwhile remembering that some airlines will class this as hand luggage and you are only allowed one item of hand luggage

Always carry in you hand luggage as I received an email the other week and it showed a video of how your case can be opened without you knowing even if you have a padlock on it. Basically they put a sharp object in the zipped part of the case and open it this way then once opened and had a look they zip it back up.

Hi guys
I brought my laptop last year as I was going for a long time, I carried it in my handluggage, I had an almost mini suitcase with me my laptop and handbag both inside given most airlines permit only one piece of carry on baggage.
I would advise you when going through security to remove it from the case, pop it into a tray with the lead, and the rest of your baggage in another tray/ straight onto the belt. In my experience electricals are almost always checked, this will just save time they can take it away to be checked if needs be without making you open your bag yourself.
Most bars have wifi access too and don't mind if you bring your charger and adaptor. Means you can have a nice efes while you get on with your work in the shade :)

enjoy your holiday !
