Hi mickyq I dont believe this service is available in Turkey, if you go into the link turkey is not included in the list for free treatment. Also they do recommend this is no substitute for a complete travel insurance. So dont fall into the trap of thinking this will cover yourself :)

The EHIC card isn't valid in Turkey as they are not members of the EU and probably will not be for a long time.

European Health card is not valid in Turkey. It is valid only for use in member states of the EU. As the EU seems to spend most of it's time and our money on trying to get us all to look, do, operate, live and be the same as each other, then I for one hope that Turkey will not join. I enjoy the difference in the people the culture and way of life. Thats why I fly 2000 miles on a regular basis. I don't want to visit and stay in countries that are just clone's of one another. Thats why all fish & chip shops etc. should be banned. Eat real Turkish food it's fabulous.

Rant over.

Enjoy Icmeler while you can.

Regards

David
