First Choice Cancelation Letter!!!!

Postby Chris221273 » 09 Jun 2011 13:25

Hey all,
Just wanted to say if anyone is travelling with First Choice and get a letter threatening cancellation to ignore it.
I made my final payment on our holiday today(yippeee)and received a letter yesterday saying that repeated requests for payment had been made and ignored by us!!!
This was news to us as we had till 10th June to pay the balance.
I phoned them this morning and it turns out that because they are changing the due date for balances to be paid off from 12 weeks to 8 weeks that people who'd already booked were getting these letters in a mailing error by head office.
So if you get one panic not, a calm and quick call is all that's required. :-)
Roll on 5th August :-)

It's getting a bit worrying to be honest, if they (and I'm sure others will follow suit) cut a month off due date that will affect a lot of people who don't pay it right off, that could be 2 months wages to a couple working. We go in August and as soon as you come back you're thinking about xmas and trying to juggle an holiday deposit for next year, and deposits are nigh on 800 quid now anyway, one less month to pay it in will stop a lot of people going anywhere never mind paradise, me included.

Unless I have read it wrong its the opposite, currently you need to pay 12 weeks before you go, now you pay 8 weeks before you go so you keep the money a bit longer.

Sorry I typed that wrong. You used to be able to pay the last payment 8 weeks before you go, but now they're changing it to 12 weeks so you get less time.

First Choice are only doing All-inclusve as of next year, so we wont be going with them again anyway. Self catering for us every time :D
