Hi, going self catering 2 adults 2 kids aged 11 and 2. Just wondering how much would you advise taking as I haven't got any clues to the prices in turkey. Many thanks

Hi Rick, we are also a family of 4 2 adults and kids aged 9 and 6. We go self catering (6th time for us) but we like to splash out and dont eat in the apartment apart from fruit, yoghurts and drinks as snacks for the kids. We budget £150 per day ad do boat trips etc and enjoy cocktails and a few drinks

we went AI the last time to
marmaris and still spent 1k , although we did start eating out more.
albeit with one less child to feed and water etc.
trying to do it for £1.5k this year going B&B , don't like scrimping when away, you're on holiday after all.

2 adults 2 kids 14 and 15, 130.00 sterling a day. Eat out every night bar snacks around the pool and I like a drink or 10. Don't do trips though.

Similar to the others, we are 2 Adults 2 kids, 18 + 15 (Suppose I better change that the 3 Adults 1 Kid) and we are budgeting £150 a day, we don't skimp, have 3 or 4 trips, eat out every night, last year we averaged about £130 a day but it's always nice to have that bit of extra, hopefully the exchange rate stays high for August, last year we got 2.31, if it does stay above 2.50 our money will go a lot further.

Hi You will find £150 a day is well adequate plus most of the restaurants do specials so thats a bonus. Just enjoy yourselves and don`t worry about the coinage it will be fine.

Between 255 and 265 lira, depending on where you exchange.

Think we drink too much! Food costs us a lot less than the booze.Only two of us but always more than £1200 We do B&B and often have a lunch snack and a few drinks during the day, then meal at night and a lot more drinks. But we are on holiday

We are the same, our bar bill at the apartments last year averaged 80-130 Lira(£34-£56) a day but there again as you say we are on holiday, if I could get my wife on the beer instead of the Gin or cocktales I would save a fortune.

Dave I have been known to drink a few efes with lime or lemonade top but mostly vodka

or wine spritzers or forget the spritzer and just wine

Husband gets fed up of the efes after a while....hes a guiness man but only the draft stuff...and then starts on the g& ts or brandys!Ah well....can't wait!

Tuborg and lime much more pleasant on the palate then effes its far less gassy for us ladies. The best cocktail i had was in Havana bar Baileys cocktail which i swear was a pint of Baileys with ice
