Hisaronu v Icmeler

Postby pedro26 » 28 May 2011 17:24

Hi' I have spent the last two holidays in Hisaronu and I was wondering as I am going to Icmeler this year if anyone can give me a comparison between the two. Is Icmeler bigger, does it have more bars, restaurants etc. I have been following this forum for sometime now and Icmeler certainly seems to have its devotees! Thanks in advance.

Hi - went to Hisonaru once. Icmeler lost count. No comparison. Will be there 2 weeks today and again in Sept. Me thinks once you have been to Icmeler you will never want to go to Hisonaru again! xx

Hi
I agree with everyone else, I've been to Hisaronu and found it a bit hilly load of steps, maybe that's just where we stayed. I also find in Icmeler the people are a lot friendlier and the food is better, my opinion only. as people have said once you've been to Icmeler you won't go anywhere else in Turkey. hope you have a great time.

You'll probably find Icmeler a little bit cheaper than Hisaronu and a lot more set meal offers.

Hi
I go to both Icmeler and Hisaronu (Ovacik area) every year and love both places.
Unlike Hisaronu where most bars and restaurants are on one main street (few exceptions of course), you will find Icmeler which is mostly flat has the beach prom and many side streets which go well back in the resort. Also the walk from Icmeler to Marmaris along the beach front (no traffic) which takes about one hour is very pleasant and great if you like walking.

Enjoy

Sorry. No comparison.
Just returned from the area, nice, but not a match on Icmeler.

I visited Hisaronu (Ovacik) for the first time last year and really enjoyed it wished we'd stayed for the 2 weeks instead of 1, and thinking of going back next year after our visit to Icmeler in September.

Enjoy your holiday to Icmeler :)

Had a family holiday in Hisaronu in 2003, it was our second time in Turkey having gone the year befor to Icmeler.
As a family with teenage kids then our decision was unanimous. Hisaronu can't hold a candle to Icmeler. It was a bit too Blackpool for us and got ripped off a few times aswell.

That being said we enjoyed the holiday and had a good time, Olu Deniz was stunning. We have since been to Gumbet /Bodrum twice and Turgutreis. All were great in their different ways especially Bodrum with it's history BUT we are returning to Icmeler this year for a family holiday because when we all decided where to go for possibly the one last blast together as a family group we all wanted Icmeler.

That's people in their 70's, 40's and twenties. Must be something eh!!
