Hi

In January I booked a suprise holiday to Icmeler for my boyfriend's birthday, and we are due to fly out on June 6th! I have had to keep this secret to myself for 5 months! and now this weekend I finally get to tell him that he is not going where he thinks in 11 days time ( a caravan in Devon!) but he needs to get out his suitcase and get packing for Turkey!

I am very exicted about our trip... and at least now have everyone on the forum to share my excitment with! I have never been to Icmeler before so I can't wait to get out there... I have stayed in Akyaka before and loved it... But my boyfriend has never been to Turkey... He is a big fan of Kebabs and I can't wait for him to try the real thing! So if anyone has an opinion on the best turkish kebabs in Icmeler then I'd love to hear from you... although I think he will be trying several.. ... we are staying in the life apartments and from what I've read we will be able to work off all the food by climbing up the hill to get home! :D

I've loved reading all the posts and now from colette's advice I am currently searching for a travel sinnk plug! :D

Welcome to the forum.

What a lovely surprise that will be for him when you tell him to pack for Turkey. I am sure you will both have a great time.

Good luck in finding your sink plug.

Hello lindsay and welcome! I am sure your boyfriend will love Turkey - and Icmeler in particular. As you have gathered, the Life apartments are uphill towards the back of the resort (just past the top end of the market), but you will have fantastic views out across the bay. If you don't fancy the walk back at night though, a lot of the bars or restaurants will give you a lift back if you ask them. We stayed at the Siesta Homes Residence, almost next door to the Life, in October, and that's what we quite often did.
As for kebabs, there are so many places that you will be spoiled for choice! There are lots of little kebab/pide places where the locals eat which do great stuff very cheaply, but many of the restaurants also do fantastic kebabs. I am sure he will love them! Have a great holiday!

Hi I'm sure you and your boyfriend will love Icmeler.
Just a thought, but I hope he has the required 6 months (at least I think it is 6 months) left on his passport.

Enjoy.
