Hey all,
Just wondered if there are certain places you can't smoke!
Is it ok to smoke on the balcony of your
hotel room? How about the outdoor parts of restaurants?
Thanks
Chris

The no smoking policy in Turkey has never really been abided. You will see the Turkish standing underneath a no smoking sign and puffing away.
No problem to smoke on the balconies of your apartments and the outside of restaurants. Most of the restaurants are open anyway, so smoking goes on in most areas.

I know this is a very touchy subject with you smokers, but if you are in a resturant even if it is outside, please ask the people on the next table if they mind. I have had many a meal ruined by smoke drifting my way. By the way, my better half smokes and gets the evil eye from me when he lights up inappropriately.

If theres folks eating we always go outside for our fags, it tends to be a bit warmer than going outside in Scotland anyway!

I'm the same I always have a quick look around to see if people are still eating before I light up and if they are I wait until they have finished or go outside.

I agree with this. There is nothing worse than eating a meal with smokers on the next table and the wind wafts the smoke your way. I have asthma and can bring on an attack, I have many a time had to move in May or October when they have the plastic shutter things down and going to Eastenders or Pleasure is out of the question for me. The government has banned smoking but is a joke- I just wish they would make sure it is enforced. They drive round to make sure the music is turned down at midnight so why not periodically check bars for smoking?

Come on folks, lets not get into any debates about smoking, the guy just asked where he could and couldn't smoke.

Well we should all live and let live, we are on holiday after all. there will always be something somebody doesn't like or approve of, for me it's football and screaming kids, but hey ho I work hard to pay for my time in paradise and I won't let nothing get to me.
