HI,
Would really appreicate it if someone in Icmeler could tell me what the exchange rate is in the resort today?

Normally I change all my money in the resort expect for £100 so i have some Lira on me when I arrive in case of emergencys but with the rate so high at the moment, I am considering changing up half, if not all of it whilst it is so good. In case it drops before we get out there next Saturday!

Also, is the resort busy at the moment? Thanks.

Not sure what it is today but on Sunday in Marmaris it was 2.50 to the £

I Know its not in resort but the Post Office are offering over 2.5 on their website just now!

Interbank rate today @ 2.58YTL so you should get about 2.55YTL in the resort if you look about

Interbank rate now 2.60, I would wait until you get to Icmeler, I always find if you deduct 0.04-0.06 from the interbank rate thats what you normally get in Icmeler from the little supermarkets.

The reason I said wait is you are going very soon, for others going later its a more difficult decision.

Yes, I think i will wait and do it in the supermarket opposite romance, they alwasy seem to do a good rate.
Might just do £200 before I go and take the rest in english.

Brilliant exchange rate at the moment - long may it continue.

What was the rate last September. I can't remember but thought it was around 2.20. Can anyone remember

In Oct we were having 2.20 - 2.25. Big difference this year.

Thanks Reesy that is a big difference. It's well worth getting the money changed now rather than risking the rate dropping by Sept.

It was never more than 230 during the 2 weeks early Sept 2010 - more often 227/228

Still better than mid May 2010 - 219/220.

Must admit am getting some each month if it exceeds 250 - September is a fair way away yet and it could easily go down.

If I remember rightly, we were getting about 2.36 in October. Very good at the moment. M & S yesterday were giving 2.5.
