Sunbeds on beach
by mrs k » 14 May 2011 06:11 pm
As we have less than 4 weeks to we are there and cannot wait . This site is amazing. Can I ask if anyone knows the price of the sunbeds on the beach? We do like the beach and we were just wondering as it is 2 years since we have been in Turkey. We like to explore and do trips but like the beach .
Thanksmrs k

I don't think the price has changed for several years = it's usually no more than £1 a day per person, more often than not with free entertainment thrown in Bargain!
A friend of mine was paying £12 per day (for 2 beds and a brolly) in Menorca last year!

we paid 5 lira for two beds and a brolly last year but one chap would try to charge 10 if he thought you were a first timer. they are usually ok though beware of the fruit sellers on the beach they will rip you of every time if your not carefull best buy it in the shops and take it on tobeach with you if you want any.have a good time. mel

i think its unfair to say the fruit sellers 'rip you off'. yes, their fruit is a higher price than the shops, normally a couple of plums, tangerine, banana etc for around 4 or 5 lira but then they are hardly going to sell it for what they brought it for are they?!
Its the same as the corn on the cob sellers or the guy who sells english newspapers.
Please remember these people are trying to make a living for their families in a very short season, if you want cheap fruit then yes, go to the grocers or Tansas....its the same here...do pubs 'rip you off'?...if so then you go to Tesco's for your beer.
just my opinionErik The Viking

a bit harsh to mel there erik but i agree with you.
the thing that annoys me with beds is when people put towels on around the pool then go out all day. how selfish is that!!
i dont think ive ever had any problems getting beds on the beach.mickyq

it wasnt meant to be harsh, but people must think before they post, a few bad words can ruin someones season.
I often find saying 'no thank you' is better than paying silly prices and then moaning about it after. You can always haggle too.
