Does any supermarket over in icmeler do washing powder? I would take it to a launderettes but honestly id rather hand wash a few bits and bobs like underwear, bikinis, tops i would wear regularly etc...

No washing powder here in Turkey.

They all throw it in a bag on their heads and head off to the beach and wash it all in the sea.

You should see it on a Monday in front of the Aqua hotel.

Women and kids everywhere doing the washing for the household then they tie lines between parasols while the tourists nap under them and hang their washing out to dry

As JT says, I have actually seen locals doing just that!

Ashley, I don't know if this is any help to you, but you can buy little travel-sized bottles of travel wash in placeslike Boots, Superdrug, etc, which might be of use for just washing "smalls"!

I have bought washing powder in icmeler in the past and also taken travel wash with me which i did not particularly like, but now i take those washing capsules on holiday if you know what i mean, persil. daz etc

I just bring a couple of soap powder tablets, and then rinse them in hair conditioner

From a mans perspective just wear them in the shower.
shower gel works wonders my elaine does say I live in the dark ages though

We take bold 2in 1 tablets and just crumble a little bit of them it makes them last longer

JT your sence of humour will be your undoing haha, back to the question asked, you can get soap powder in any of the supermarkets even some brands you will know, my favorite is good old OMO.
(Now I'm showing my age), it's the best , colours glow and whites gleam and it's not expensive. The only problem is that I always have plenty left at the end of our holiday and would love to bring it home with me as you cannot get it in this country, but I dont think I will risk trying to take a white powder through a Turkish airport, I've seen Midnight Express.

I can remember one day we were in our apartments (Alvaro) and we hand washed some clothes with powder from Tansas. We just threw it down on the balcony then to dry. We came back about 3 hours later and the maidshad put out a washing line for us and pegged it all out, nowhere else would you get that sort of service, unbelievable. By the way JT iI hope they sell extra strong washing powder over there as I have an habit of dropping curry down me vest and at 3 lira a beer in the sizzler I think a few currys will come my way.

You know something..i never even thought of taking the little capsules with me! D'oh! But yes i think i shall do that instead but only bring a few and leave some at home

When you going ash?

I always take some Ariel liquid in a travel bottle. Used to put it in hand luggage but now wrap it tightly in a freezer bag and put in luggage for the hold.

Ashley, if you take the liquid capsules, put them in the fridge otherwise with the heat they will stick together

OMG Michelle and I have to work on a Monday, who will wash our uniforms for us? Could they possibly change the washing day to a Sunday?

We found out by pure chance last year that the hand soap (the fruity variety) from The Body Shop will lift out any nasty marks on clothes - mascara, curry etc.
