what time does the sunset in early August & what's an effe?

Postby Chris221273 » 26 Apr 2011 10:22

Hi all,
Questions as above really.
I'm a keen photographer and will be looking forward to taking lots of piccies so sunset times would be good to know.
And.... what's an efe /effe :-)

Efes is the local Turkish beer - you can also buy it over here in several supermarkets and places like Wetherspoons' pubs. However, it's definitely better enjoyed chilled while sitting in the Icmeler sunshine! :D

I think that blonde has understated what an Efes is.

Efes is the "Nectar of the Gods" who have allowed us mortals to partake of its taste and flavour.
It comes either in bottle or draught.

Sunset early August about 7-30 to 8pm.

Indeed, Gene, once again you are correct in your description of Efes - as Chris will no doubt discover for himself sooner or later! (As I said, it's not a bad drink over here, but tastes soooooo much better when you're quaffing a chilled glass of it in Icmeler!)

Supermarkets 3 Lira

Bars and Restaurants 3 - 5 Lira depending where you go, some may be more expensive, we are waiting for the reports from the resort to confirm.

People keep talking about the sunset in Icmeler but I don't understand what they mean.

You do not see the sun set into the sea nor do you see the sun set as it just drops behind a mountain then takes another hour or so to set.

Hire a car and run out to the Datca road and watch it set into the sea

The larger Tesco stores in Scotland sell bottles of Efes but they are slim pilsner type bottles, not the chubbies you buy in Icmeler.
My big sis and I enjoy a chilled Efes when we go to a Turkish Retaurant in Glasgow.Expensive but worth it. :)
