So if the exchange is 2.37 which I doubt it will be any higher in August when we come, that would be 2.10 a pint sterling, not a cheap holiday anymore, and quickly rising to the euro zone prices. Shame but what I expected to be honest.

I agree John but the difference is the amount of times you go out in
Icmeler compared to home. I wouldn't go out 14 nights on the trot here but I would and do over there, that's the difference. We spent 2 grand last year, 2 adults and 2 kids, the same cost of our holiday. I said on another thread a while back now if I ever have to spend more on food and drink than I paid for our holiday then I'm no longer getting value. I would never touch ai either.

Was on hoilday oct 2010 not Turkey drink very cheap 3 bottles 5euros, but meals twice the price of Turkey and to me just pub lunches standard, boat trips £20pp for 2 hours , ok the price of booze, & everything else is on the rise, but still think great value overall
Just means to me, one less pint per nite and 1 less asprin in the morning

OK so the price of a nice cold Effes has gone up but so have the prices here at home, the cost not that important it is where you are when you are drinking it that matters most

We are just saving harder so that we can do everything we normally do , maybe only 1 or 2 effes in afternoon instead of 3 or 4

roll on august

Indeed, yorkshirerobin - so we may have to pay a bit more, but come on, at least we'll be able to enjoy that ice-cold Efes in lovely, gorgeous Icmeler! Bring it on!!

I agree with you yorkshirerobin and blondie too. Anyway the extra cost incurred will always be wiped away by the odd "on the house" pint which I regularly enjoy at my local, Tommy's Bar.
