Icmeler Online Holiday Forum & Reviews - Turkey

Off to Icmeler for the first time next week and have been ploughing through the forum trying to find out a few things with varying degrees of success so...how much are things like soft drinks beer (for me!) and what sort of prices are meals?

I know it all depends on where you eat (and drink) but a rough idea would be appreciated.

Are mosquitos / wasps a problem? How much is the air con in rooms?

Just want to make sure I take enough spending stuff!

Where are you staying - we are going in August for 2 weeks and are staying at the Siesta Apartments, we have previously stayed at the marbas and the selenII. air conditioning varies between hotels, last year we paid about £22 per week. It's worth it though.

Soft drinks last year are roughly the same price as beer.

Meals for 2 adults & 1 child are about £25ish depending on what you have and how many beers you can drink per meal!!

Wasps were a problem when we stayed at the marbas not sure why it was worse there than at the selen, might be nearer the beach ?? My little boy was stung 3 times the first year. Mosquitos I have never had a problem with in Icmeler - we use a plug in in the room at night.

For those worried about the cost this year, I noticed no increase on last years prices so infact with the better exchange rate at the moment things are working out cheaper.
Sugars Buffalo Bar............Effes 49 pence for 70cl
Pop Inn............................Effes 90 pence a pint
Baron Bar........................Effes 60 pence a pint
A lot of Bars at ................Effes £1 a pint
Most music bars and Restaurents 3-4 ytl or £1-10 to £140 a pint
Chicken Breast Mushroom sauce carrots beans rice and chips,14ytl or
£4-60.
Fillet Steak with trimmings.....18ytl or £5-80
Set meals,Starter, maincourse and sweet....22ytl or £8.00

Just to amend Genes post a bit.

There is fierce competition in Icmeler at the moment so I think it is cheaper than Marmaris.

Baron bar is now £1 per pint

Buffalo is 1 lira per small beer which really isn't small

And as a bit of a clue to how much competition there is have a look below.

We go out next Friday from Gatwick. We are staying at Avlu 4.

yes take alot of mosquito spary with you and take vitamin B every day before you go and every day while your there it wil really help. icmeler is fantastic!!!
